3. Ahkello Witherspoon, cornerback, LA Rams

Cornerback has suddenly become a need for the Jaguars after releasing Darious Williams. They now need to find a starter opposite Tyson Campbell. Moreover, they'll have to look for a nickel if Tre Herndon leaves in free agency and Antonio Johnson moves back to safety.

Trading for L'Jarius Sneed would make sense if Jacksonville wanted a proven commodity. The issue with acquiring the two-time Super Bowl-winning cornerback is that they would have to invest significant resources to acquire him. For that reason, they might be better off waiting until the draft to find Williams' potential replacement.

That said, there will be a handful of low-cost options in free agency if the Jags don't want to wait until the draft. Ahkello Witherspoon will be one of them. A third-round pick in 2017, Witherspoon spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers. He then crossed enemy lines and joined the Seattle Seahawks in 2021.

However, Witherspoon never suited up for the Hawks, as he was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers before the start of the 2021 season. The Former Colorado Buffalo dealt with injuries during his two-year stint in Steel City but bounced back after joining the Los Angeles Rams last year, registering 52 total tackles, 14 pass deflections, and three interceptions.

Spotrac projects that Witherspoon will get around $10.5 million per year in free agency, which is more or less the same amount Williams was supposed to make in 2024. However, there's a chance the Jaguars could get him at a lower rate. Moreover, Witherspoon may be a better fit than Williams, which makes him an ideal target in free agency.
