The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Houston Texans in Week 4. While there's no such thing as moral victories, they fought hard and came close to winning their first game of the season. Unfortunately, the Jags weren't able to finish the job and dropped their four straight. And that's the thing.

The truth is that Jacksonville has played well at times this season but not nearly enough to overcome their mistakes. Week 4 wasn't any different. The coaching staff had a couple blunders but several players failed to execute, which ended up overshadowing others who did show out. With that in mind, here are four studs and four duds from the loss to the Texans.

Tank Bigsby was a stud for the Jaguars in the loss to the Texans

Tank Bigsby continues to be a bright spot for the Jaguars in what's turned out to be a disappointing season. After an underwhelming rookie campaign, the former Auburn Tiger has looked like a completely different player, toting the rock 21 times for 172 yards. Moreover, he's averaged an outstanding 8.2 yards per carry.

Against the Texans, Bigsby broke off for a 58-yard run that put the Jags within scoring distance. That's been his longest play of the season. Unfortunately, the team wasn't able to take advantage of the sophomore's effort, coming out empty-handed on that drive.

Brian Thomas Jr. was a stud for the Jaguars in the loss to the Texans

Brian Thomas Jr. has quickly developed into one of Trevor Lawrence's most trusted targets. Four games into the NFL season, the rookie wideout has hauled in a team-best 17 receptions for 275 yards with two touchdowns. The fact that veterans Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis have been inconsistent makes Thomas' performance look even better.

By now, Thomas Jr. is accustomed to making at least one big play per game. The game against the Texans was no different, with the former LSU Tiger reeling in a 32-yard reception that got Jacksonville closer to the Houston end zone.

Cam Robinson was a stud for the Jaguars in the loss to the Texans

Cam Robinson has gotten lots of flak this season, and rightly so. The veteran left tackle gave up four sacks and 13 total pressures in the first three games of the season. Add the fact that he's one of the highest-paid players on the team, his subpar performance was more infuriating.

Fast forward to Week 4, and Robinson played a stellar game, giving up no sacks or pressures to the Texans defensive front. On top of that, his 80.0 Pro Football overall grade was among the best five in Jacksonville.

Montaric Brown was a stud for the Jaguars in the loss to the Texans

Montaric Brown has stepped up during Tyson Campbell's stay on the Injured Reserve list. The third-year cornerback is quickly becoming a staple of the defense. Heck, when Campbell comes back, you could make the case that Brown should remain in the starting lineup.

In Week 4, Brown had yet another stellar game, giving up just three receptions on nine targets for 31 yards. The former Arkansas Razorback would be getting more recognition if the Jaguars had a winning record, but it's fair to say that he's been one of their bright spots during their four-game losing streak.

Brandon Scherff was a dud for the Jaguars in the loss to the Texans

Alongside Cam Robinson, Brandon Scherff was one of the top-graded Jaguars in Week 4, earning an 81.5 score. While there's no denying that he had a solid game, he whiffed on a block during a quarterback draw on fourth-and-1 late in the game.

Had Scherff held his block, the Jaguars would've scored and built a 10-point lead. Instead, they turned the ball on downs and went on to lose the game. When Doug Pederson said that coaches cannot get onto the field and play, that's what he was referring to.

Luke Farrell was a dud for the Jaguars in the loss to the Texans

Tight end Luke Farrell made two crucial mistakes in the loss to the Texans. The first one took place early in the third quarter. Trevor Lawrence targeted him on second-and-nine and he couldn't reel in the football. Had he come down with the catch, he would've given the Jags a fresh set of downs.

The second one came when he failed to block defensive end Will Anderson when Jacksonville was near the line of scrimmage. Tank Bigsby did get two yards but might've gained more if the Ohio State product had carried out his assignment.

Gabe Davis was a dud for the Jaguars in the loss to the Texans

The Jaguars have gotten mixed results from free agent acquisition Gabe Davis. So far this season, he's hauled in nine receptions for 121 yards with no touchdowns. That's not a bad statline, the issue is that he's caught less than half of his targets.

In Week 4, Davis was targeted five times and only caught one for -2 yards. Compounding the issue is that he could've caught a touchdown to make it 27-17 but the ball bounced off his helmet. It's still early in the season but calling the Florida native a disappointment isn't hyperbole.

Ronald Darby was a dud for the Jaguars in the Week 4 loss to the Texans

Whereas Montaric Brown showed out against the Texans, veteran Ronald Darby struggled, surrendering 11 catches on 12 targets for 159 yards. Granted, he had to go against stud wide receiver Nico Collins, but his performance was still far from ideal.

While Darby has generally played well this season, the Week 4 game is one he'll surely want to forget.
