Notable reunion No. 3 in 2023 - Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans

There are several reasons why Doug Pederson would've been an excellent pick for the 2022 Coach of the Year Award besides helping Trevor Lawrence reach his potential and leading the Jaguars to their first trip to the playoffs since 2017. One that sometimes flies under the radar is getting their players riled up about divisional games.

Last year, Pederson showed Jaguars players a video of all the trash talk the Titans had done over the years to hype them up for their first matchup of the 2022 season. The approach worked as Jacksonville went on to win the game. They also beat them in the final and the Jags have a realistic shot at sweeping their division foes again in 2023.

Tennessee tried to make as many upgrades as possible in the offseason but their roster isn't in great shape ahead of the regular season. Besides having too many holes to fill, they didn't have nearly enough cap space or draft picks to address all their needs. Having said that, the Titans did manage to poach defensive end Arden Key from the Jaguars.

Key became an integral cog on the Jaguars defense last season but he didn't think the Jaguars made him a good offer to return in 2023, so he instead joined the Titans, who were willing to meet his salary demands.

Not long after signing with Tennessee, Key went on to talk about the impact he had in Jacksonville and how much of a factor he was in their turnaround. The former LSU Tiger will get the chance to prove that letting him cross enemy lines was a big mistake.
