No. 3 potential trade partner for Jaguars RB D'Ernest Johnson: Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders started a rebuild last year when general manager Dave Zigler and head coach Josh McDaniels took the reins of the team. So far, things haven't gone the way the duo probably expected. They got rid of several core contributors that played a pivotal role in their 2021 playoff run and went 6-11 last year.

Although the Raiders beat the Denver Broncos in the season opener, they got crushed by the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. The defense certainly played a huge role. You won't win many games when you give up 38 points like they did last Sunday. On the other hand, their offense should also bear plenty of blame.

Led by Jimmy Garoppolo, Las Vegas has enough talent to put enough points on the scoreboard. Just last year, running back Josh Jacobs led the league in rushing yards. They also have a premier receiver in Davante Adams. Last but not least, they have a reliable slot in Hunter Renfrow.

Now, Jimmy G doesn't have the strongest arm in the world, and the Raiders' brass expect their playmakers to create yards after the catch. They should also lean on Jacobs more moving forward but to ensure he doesn't get too much tread on the tires, Zigler could bring in some like Johnson to split the workload with the Alabama product.

Right now, their top backup at the position is Zamir White, who hasn't done anything to make you think the Raiders' running back will be fine if Jacobs had to miss time. Johnson would be a solid No. 2 who can either provide depth or be a reliable change-of-pace back.
