Most NFL teams are done making moves this season, setting their sights on making upgrades to their roster until 2024. However, those still in the thick of the playoff race could benefit from loading up on talent. Such is the case of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who could use some help in the pass-rush department.

While outside linebacker Josh Allen is having a banner year, and Travon Walker has made strides, the Jags need to round out their rotation. They had several chances to give their pass rush a boost in the offseason but ultimately opted against it. Looking back, trading for Danielle Hunter would've been huge, as would landing Montez Sweat at the deadline.

The good news is that Justin Houston just became available following his release from the Carolina Panthers. The veteran pass rusher asked to be cut and his request was granted. Given that he was released after the trade deadline, he's subject to waivers. There may be other clubs interested in his services but the Jags should most definitely consider claiming him or locking him up once he clears waivers.

Houston, a third-round pick in 2011, is no longer the player he was when he registered a monster 22 sacks in 2014. However, he should still have some juice left. Moreover, the Jaguars don't need an All-Pro pass rusher but rather someone who can round out their rotation.

While Houston has been limited to seven games and 0.5 sacks this season, there are a few reasons the Jaguars should consider kicking the tires on him. Conversely, there are couple why they should refrain from signing him. Here's the case for and against going after him.
