The Jacksonville Jaguars had to fix a handful of glaring holes in the offseason. All things considered, they did a good job of addressing most of them. However, there was so much to get done that the team's brass wasn't able to take care of every need.

Make no mistake, the Jags' overall level of talent is much better than it was last year, but the depth at a handful of position groups leaves a bit to be desired. These three, in particular, could be a cause for concern.

Cornerback could be an area of concern for the Jaguars in 2024

The Jaguars moved on from Darious Williams in a cap-saving move. While he was their best cornerback last year, the front office couldn't pass up the chance to release him and free up $11 million in space. To replace him, they signed Ronald Darby, who'll tentatively start opposite Tyson Campbell next season.

That looks like a solid plan in theory, especially when you factor in that rookie Jarrian Jones will make a strong push for a starting job at some point in 2024. However, Darby has never started a full season in his career and has sat out a combined 13 games the past two years. Compounding the issue is that Campbell is coming off an injury-marred campaign.

But even if Campbell or Darby stay healthy, there's no guarantee they'll hold their own next season. The former is entering his 10th NFL season while the latter will be making the switch to press coverage after previously thriving in zone.

If Campbell or Darby spend time on the sidelines, regardless of the reason, Jones will be the first in line to fill in for them. The former Florida State Seminole has intriguing upside but he'll probably experience the growing pains that come with being a rookie.

The next man up after Jones will probably be Montaric Brown, who had a key pass breakout against the New Orleans Saints in 2023 but generally struggled to hold his own.

Now, Campbell could end up having a bounce-back season and Jones may have an impact right off the bat. Either way, injuries might test the Jacksonville cornerback group in 2024.
