Every now and then, players who fly under the radar get so much attention that they end up being overrated. Just like any NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a few of these.

Mind you, these aren't bad players. Instead, they range from good to very good but aren't nearly as great as some might think. With that in mind, here are three Jaguars that may get a bit more praise than they deserve.

No. 3 Jaguars player fans need to pump the brakes on: Evan Engram, TE

Update: Engram and the Jaguars agreed to a three-year deal worth $42.5 million Sunday.

By the time you're reading this, the deadline for the Jaguars and Evan Engram to strike a long-term deal will be one day away or it will have passed. If they don't get a multi-year contract done by July 17, Engram will play the 2023 season under the franchise tag, which prevents him from playing for any club but Jacksonville this year.

Even though Engram should maximize his earning window and look for a top-market contract, it's easy to see why the Jaguars are reluctant to give it to him. The Ole Miss Rebel posted career highs for both catches and receiver yards but he's not an elite tight end. Top 5 -10? You bet, but the Jaguars probably don't feel like paying a premium for a very good but not great player.

The fact that head coach Doug Pederson has a solid track record of developing tight ends could make it difficult for Engram to cash in. Maybe if he has another banner year but Jacksonville already has a contingency plan in Brenton Strange, a 2023 second-round pick.

Also, if for some reason Engram prices himself out of Jacksonville and Strange doesn't develop early, the Jags can easily use another early draft pick on the position next year.
