3 Jaguars trade proposals to land top-notch pass rusher Haason Reddick
1. Jaguars trade Chad Muma and a 2nd-Round pick for Haason Reddick
Besides safety, linebacker is another need the Eagles will need to tackle in the draft. They've historically shied away from addressing it in the first round of the draft, so maybe they could make a move in free agency to take care of it. Conversely, Jacksonville could step in and offer Chad Muma, along with a second-round pick, in exchange for Haason Reddick.
Now, the Jaguars may be without a second-round pick if they re-sign Calvin Ridley before free agency. When they traded for Ridley in 2022, they agreed to give the Atlanta Falcons their second-rounder if they re-signed him. For the sake of argument, let's say they find a way to keep Ridley and keep their second-rounder. Going back to Chad Muma, he has yet to find a defined role with the Jags since getting drafted in 2022.
Muma briefly joined the starting lineup when fellow linebacker Devin Lloyd was benched. He flashed in two starts before an ankle injury sidelined him. The former Wyoming Cowboy once again was thrust into action last year but wasn't nearly as effective, and spent most of the season on the sidelines once Lloyd returned to the lineup.
Maybe the coaching staff isn't sold on Muma, which is why they haven't given him many chances to compete. If the Jaguars aren't sure he can develop into a steady contributor, then trading him makes sense.
In Philadelphia, Muma would join a linebacker corps that is in need of playmakers. Nakobe Dean was on and off as a rookie, but even if he makes strides in Year 2, the Eagles need to bolster the position. They could re-sign Zach Cunningham but adding Muma could also help.
Muma is far from a proven commodity but he has the skillset to thrive. All he needs is a chance and he could get it in Philly.
