The Jacksonville Jaguars did a good job of revamping the roster in the offseason. They addressed most needs in free agency and later drafted several players who will have an immediate impact. On top of that, the team's brass was able to lock up key contributors such as Trevor Lawrence and Josh Allen. That said, there's still work to be done.

The Jags have a handful of players who are entering contract years. They would surely want to keep most, if not all, of them. However, they might have trouble pulling it off. These three players, in particular, seem like a long shot to return in 2025.

Adam Gotsis is definitely entering his last season with the Jaguars

The defensive line was a point of emphasis for the top brass in the offseason. They signed Arik Armstead and later used a couple of draft picks on Maason Smith and Jordan Jefferson. It's fair to say that Jacksonville got bigger and stronger at the line of scrimmage. On the other hand, that could leave a handful of players on the outside looking in either this year or next. Adam Gotsis could be one of them.

Gotsis, a second-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 2016, signed with the Jags in 2020. While his numbers won't pop off the stat sheet, he's become a valuable piece in their defensive line rotation. After making 14 starts in 2020, the Australia native has logged just 12 the past three years. However, he's been arguably more productive in a complementary role, registering 5.5 sacks in that span.

Last year, Gotsis was particularly valuable, having helped fill the void left by DaVon Hamilton's absence. Having said that, he might have trouble getting playing time in 2024 after the arrival of Armstead, Smith, and Jefferson.

In fact, the surplus in the trenches could make it difficult for Gotsis to earn a roster spot. But if he ultimately makes the cut, it's hard to see him returning in 2025. After all, He's entering the last year of the contract he got in 2023, and it probably won't make much sense to bring him back after devoting so many resources to beefing up the defensive front this past offseason.
