No. 2 free agent do-over for the Jaguars in 2023: Isaac Seumalo, LG

There are a few questions surrounding the Jaguars' offensive line ahead of the 2023 season but the biggest one is arguable left guard Ben Bartch's availability for training camp. The former St. John Johnny started five games last year but a knee injury cut his season short.

Earlier this year, head coach Doug Pederson said that it's uncertain whether Bartch will be a full-go for training camp but if he isn't, Jacksonville could either roll with veteran Tyler Shatley or Cole Van Lanen. Both players are solid alternatives but the Jags could have signed Isaac Seumalo in case Bartch's rehab doesn't go as expected. After all, it wouldn't make sense to rush Bartch only to have him get hurt again. Enter Seumalo.

A third-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft, Seumalo needed a bit of time to hit his stride but became a full-starter in 2019. Recognizing his value in the trenches, Philly gave him a three-year extension worth $15.98 million that year. Unfortunately, injuries limited the former Oregon State Beaver to 12 games the next to seasons. The good news is that Seumalo returned to the Eagles' starting lineup in 2022 and went on to play all 17 games.

Seumalo ended up signing a three-year, $24 million contract with the Steelers in free agency. He might have exceeded the Jaguars' spending budget but he would have ensured that left guard isn't a weakness in 2023 and beyond.
