1. Player the Jacksonville Jaguars wish had stayed in 2023: Jawaan Taylor, RT

Right tackle Jawaan Taylor was somewhat of a polarizing figure early in his NFL career. Although he had the talent to become one of the best at his position, he also struggled with penalties and wasn't particularly great in pass protection.

This led Taylor to compete with sophomore Walker Little in training camp to keep his job last year. Although Taylor finished on top, it wasn't by a wide margin. Nevertheless, he made the most of his opportunity and never looked back.

Taylor went on to have a career year in 2022. After allowing an average of 43 total pressures in his first three seasons, he gave up just 16 last year. The Jags made him an offer to stay but they knew that he was most likely to get a better one in the open market, which is what ended up happening when the Kansas City Chiefs gave him a four-year deal worth $80 million.

In Kansas City, Taylor will switch to the left side and will get to protect Patrick Mahomes, so you could say that things ultimately worked out for him. On the other hand, it was a bit disappointing to see Taylor leave because of how much better he progressively got in Jacksonville. He never complained and just kept grinding. Those are the kind of players every team love to have.
