The Jacksonville Jaguars probably wanted more production from their 2025 draft class. Then again, they couldn't have predicted that injuries would prevent several rookies from making an impact. Having said that, the Jags should be hyped up about their early results.
Although only three of Jacksonville's nine draft picks suited up for all 17 games, all of them made an impact. Running back LeQuint Allen became a pass-blocking specialist, safety Rayuan Layne carved a niche on special teams, and center Johna Monheim flashed potential in limited playing time.
Monheim, in particular, could develop into a starter down the road, and the Pro Football Writers of America just recognized his impact when they made him part of an illustrious group.
The PFWA included Jaguars C Jonah Monheim in their All-Rookie Team
The PFWA just put together their All-Rookie team, and Jonah Monheim made the cut at center. This isn't necessarily surprising when you take into account that his 207 offensive snaps in 2025 were the most at the position among rookies. On a related note, the Moonpark, California native was also selected to ESPN's All-Pro Rookie team.
You could make the case that Monheim made PFWA's All-Rookie team by default, but the truth is that if he had struggled, they could've easily gone with fellow center Drew Kendall. That said, the former USC Trojan showed promise in his first NFL season, giving up just eight total pressures and one sack. His Pro Football Focus of 59.2 was also good for a rookie, especially one drafted in the seventh round.
As early as this year, Monheim could challenge incumbent Robert Hainsey for the starting job. But even if he loses, the second-year center will provide depth on the offensive line.

The Jaguars needed more from their rookie class in 2025
The Jaguars went 13-4 in Liam Coen's first season at the helm, but imagine how much better they would've been if most of their rookie class had stayed healthy? Travis Hunter held his own at the corner and had a breakout game at receiver just before he suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Safety Caleb Ransaw was seemingly poised to take on a featured role before a leg injury brought an end to his rookie campaign before the regular season even started. Similarly, a knee injury derailed offensive lineman Wyatt Milum's first year in the NFL.
Edge rusher Jalen McLeod also spent his rookie year on the Injured Reserve list. Linebacker Jack Kiser would join him near the end of the regular season with a hamstring injury. Last but not least, running back Bhayshul Tuten dealt with a hand injury that forced him to miss two games. That's six players who miss significant playing time and could've contributed down the stretch.
The good news is that all six should be back in the fold for 2026, and with a year of experience under their belt, they should take on bigger roles. Couple that with the arrival of this year's batch of rookies, and the Jags should be in great shape next season.
