It's clear that the playoffs didn't go how Jacksonville Jaguars fans wanted them to, but unlike other teams, the future still looks bright in Duval. The Jags had a red-hot season, and it only looks to be getting better from here.
Of course, there are still issues to address, but on the whole, the Jags are in a good position to make an even deeper playoff run next year. And a lot of it is because this team is absolutely stacked with talent. James Gladstone and Liam Coen built a roster other teams would kill for, with superstars on every level.
A perfect example is wide receiver Parker Washington. He came into the 2025 season having mostly played on special teams before having a huge breakout season and making the case to become Jacksonville's new WR1. And his performance, especially in the playoffs, is making the league take notice.
Jaguars WR Parker Washington gets his due from Pro Football Focus
Pro Football Focus (PFF) named their most improved player at every position, and Parker Washington got the nod at wide receiver - not just for the Jaguars, but for the entire league. Thomas Valentine acknowledged both Travis Hunter, whose promising rookie season was cut short with an injury, and Jakobi Meyers, but it's Washington who stood out.
"Washington bettered his 59.7 overall grade from a year ago, averaging a career-high 2.19 yards per route run — 14th among receivers in the NFL," he wrote. "He quietly became one of the league top contested catch options, hauling in 19 of 29 contested catches — the fourth-most among receivers. A bit-part play to start the season, Washington came alive in the second half of the year and should be viewed as a valuable part of a Jaguars team moving in the right direction."

Parker Washington is a cornerstone of the Jaguars offense
Washington especially proved how much of a threat he is during the Jags' playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills. Yes, that one hurt, but Washington still had an incredible game. He led the team in receiving yards, even with a legit Bills defense slowing the offense down.
There is still another year left on Washington's contract, so he isn't leaving Jacksonville anytime soon. But all signs point to him continuing to have a big role in the Jaguars offense, and James Gladstone & Co. shouldn't let him walk away when the time comes.
After all, Washington has built great chemistry with Trevor Lawrence and proven to be reliable and dangerous, two things the Jaguars don't want to lose as they continue to build on this season's success.
