The Jacksonville Jaguars weren't very good in 2024. One moment that embodies just how atrocious they were took place against the Philadelphia Eagles, and NFL Films made sure that they won't forget it anytime soon.
Producer Brendan Walker shared the new hallway art at the NFL Films office on social media, asking everyone if they noticed anything. The truth is that there are several interesting details.

For instance, there's a female crew on the top left. Also, pictures of former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback take up ample space. There's also a picture of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley's leap backward in Week 9 of the 2024 season.
This is understandable when you take into account how breathtaking the play was. The trouble is that NFL Films also included Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones, who happened to be on the wrong side of the play.
NFL Films could've easily cropped Jones in the image, but leaving it probably makes Barkley's hurdle look more transcendental.
The Jags lost the game 28-23. What's frustrating is that the Jags reached the Philly end zone and had a chance to win the game. However, they dialed a questionable play that called for running back D'Ernest Johnson to run a wheel route. He failed to come down with the ball, and Jacksonville lost.
The incompletion was one of several defining moments in the loss, but Barkley's hurdle over Jones probably takes the cake. What's worse is that the play wasn't a reflection of how good Jones was as a rookie.
A third-round pick in last year's draft, the former Florida State Seminole most lined up in the slot and was one of the team's few bright spots. He registered one interception and six passes defensed in 17 games with four starts. Moreover, his Pro Football Focus run grade of 88.5 ranked sixth among 222 qualifying cornerbacks.

Expect Jarrian Jones and the Jaguars defense to show improvement in 2025
Jarrian Jones would surely like to forget the Saquon Barkley leap but isn't probably dwelling too much on it. Instead, he's getting ready for the 2025 season. It will be interesting to see what kind of role the Jacksonville Jaguars are crafting for him.
Due to the arrival of Jourdan Lewis, the belief was that Jones would be moving to the boundaries, given that the veteran corner mostly lined up inside during his stint with the Dallas Cowboys. However, the team's brass says having both gives them ample flexibility, so there's a chance Jones will stay in the slot next season.
It's also worth noting that the Jags dismissed defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen after an underwhelming 2024 season and hired Anthony Campanile to replace him.
Highly respected across the league, Campanille should get the most out of Jones and the defense, something that Nielsen failed to do.
If things go according to the plan, you won't see Jarrian Jones or the Jaguars defense failing too many plays in 2025.
