After a successful 2025 campaign, the Jacksonville Jaguars are ready to take the next step next season.
Last year, the Jags made the playoffs but lost to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round. They made enough chances to make you think that they won't be one-and-done in the postseason. In fact, one NFL analyst believes Jacksonville has improved so much that he's picked it to face the Dallas Cowboys in the Super Bowl.
Pete Prisco is picking the Jaguars to beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports chose the Cowboys to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, arguing that they have enough firepower and the quarterback to light up the scoreboard next season.
"I think this offense is going to be so good. I think Dak Prescott's finally going to get the flowers he deserves, and I think he's going to put up big numbers and might even be in the MVP conversation this year," Prisco told colleague Hailey Sutton. "The Cowboys win this game and advance to the Super Bowl. So you guys can see me. I'm smiling. I'm so happy. This is the Cowboys' first Super Bowl appearance since the 1990s. This is all great. This is all fun."
Prisco then said that Dallas will face the Cowboys on Championship Sunday, adding that Trevor Lawrence is going to come up clutch at the last minute to help Jacksonville win its first championship in team history.
"But you're going to ruin my fun here because our Super Bowl matchup is the Jags and the Cowboys, and who wins? And again, two really good offensive teams that are going to score a lot of points. It'll be a fun Super Bowl, but in the end, I think Trevor Lawrence will make the play late to win it. Jacksonville wins their first-ever Super Bowl. In fact, the first one they ever get to. And you could call me a homer for all you want, but you know what? I'd rather be right," Prisco stated.
The Boys certainly have enough talent on both sides of the ball to make a deep playoff run. However, they play in the NFC East, one of the toughest divisions in the whole league. That said, they have a realistic chance to make a deep playoff run.
On the other hand, the Houston Texans are seemingly the favorites to win the AFC South, but Jacksonville is far from a pushover.

The Jaguars do have a chance to get to the Super Bowl
Getting to the Super Bowl, let alone winning it, is extremely hard. As of this writing, the Jaguars aren't even among the five teams with the best chance to raise the Lombardi Trophy in 2026. The Los Angeles Rams have the best odds at +550, followed by the Buffalo Bills at +1000. The Seattle Seahawks are third at 1,100+. Simply put, the Jags will face several challenges to get to the top. The good news is that they have a chance, a slim one, but a chance nonetheless.
Trevor Lawrence is coming off an impressive 2025 and is ready to take the next step. With Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, and Travis Hunter in the fold, his arsenal of weapons is the best one No. 16 has had in his career.
On defense, Jacksonville has talent at all three levels, including the scary pass-rushing duo of Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen. And with Liam Coen steering the ship in the right direction, the Jags will be able to go toe-to-toe with the best squads in the NFL.
When you add it all up, the Jaguars certainly have everything to shake the NFL next season, even if they aren't the trendy pick.
