The Jacksonville Jaguars have been linked to Tetairoa McMillan in this year's draft cycle. This is a logical pairing when you take into account that they need to round out Trevor Lawrence's arsenal of weapons, and he'll probably be available at No. 5. And while's the best receiver prospect in this year's draft, he's far from the only one. In fact, there are other ways the Jags can bolster the position, and a recent meeting may be a sign that they're planning to take a different path.
John Shipley of Sports Illustrated reports that Jacksonville met with Monaray Baldwin at the Big 12 pro day. Here's the skinny.
"According to sources with knowledge of the information, the Jaguars met with Baylor wide receiver Monaray Baldwin at the Big 12 pro day. This is an interesting meeting for a few reasons, notably because of the Jaguars' needs at the wide receiver position."
A third-star recruit out of high school, Baldwin became a mainstay of the Golden Bears offense the past three seasons, registering a combined 98 catches for 1,666 yards with 13 touchdowns in that span.
At 5'9" pounds, Baldwin ran the 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds. He's a speedster who can stretch the field but may struggle in the boundaries because of his size. Having said that, he's showcased great yard-after-catch capability.

As Shipley noted, though, Baldwin is projected to go in Round 3, and most big boards echoed the sentiment. This is to say that he would be a developmental kind of player for the Jaguars. Then again, their meeting could shed a bit of light on their draft strategy.

The meeting with Monaray Baldwin may be a sign the Jaguars won't draft Tetairoa McMillan
There's a day and night difference between Tetairoa McMillan and Monaray Baldwin. And just because the Jacksonville Jaguars met with the latter is not a sign that they won't draft the former. However, it could give away a bit of their strategy.
Sure, meeting with Baldwin won't preclude the Jags from taking McMillan. Heck, they could even draft the two. That said, there's a chance the team's brass is scouting wide receivers projected to go on Day 3 because they want to prioritize other positions in the early rounds.
There's no doubt that McMillan would be a great addition to the Jaguars offense. His versatility to line up anywhere at the line of scrimmage, along massive size and catch radius, would give the head coach Liam Coen a movable chess piece. On the other hand, Jacksonville already signed Dyami Brown and has Brian Thomas Jr. in the fold. The wide receiver corps could still use upgrades, but the front office can easily pass on McMillan and address the position later.
In fact, defensive tackle Mason Graham, two-way star Travis Hunter, or even offensive lineman Armand Membou may give the Jaguars better value with the fifth overall selection. They could then go after Matthew Golden or Tre Harris on Day 2 and add depth at wide receiver in Rounds 4 through 7.
Again, Tetairoa McMillan shouldn't be just ruled out at No. 5, but the fact that the Jaguars are meeting with Monaray Baldwin may be a sign that they won't prioritize the wide receiver position in the 2025 NFL Draft.
