It's no secret that the Jacksonville Jaguars made the offensive line a point of emphasis this offseason. This doesn't come as a surprise when you take into account that their inadequate blocking was the reason they couldn't establish the run or protect Trevor Lawrence. Already, the front office made a few upgrades in free agency, but more could be coming based on head coach Liam Coen's latest remarks.

Coen meet with the local media during the team's voluntary workout and said that the Jags will be look to fortify the trenches.

"I think that standpoint, we're always looking to add to the roster, whether it's through the draft, free agency, things like that," Coen responded when asked if they plan to keep making additions to the offensive line. "But I do believe we brought in some players to come help compete in that room, couple. Obviously, with Hainsey in the system, and Mekari playing a lot of football, and guys coming in, it's only going to help, right?"

Coen continued, "Help add competitiveness to the room and also just some accountability to know in the system that'll help everybody in that room. So it's cool, both of our centers actually know what version of the system in different ways, but it's only going to help bringing those guys in."

Of course, Coen won't outright say that the team will address the O-Line in the draft. Furthermore, the question presented him a great opportunity to praise the current group.

The Jaguars signed Patrick Mekari and Robert Hainsey in free agency to start at right guard and center, respectively. Moreover, they locked up Fred Johnson and Chuma Edoga to bolster the depth up front. That said, the offensive line could use further upgrades.

Left tackle Walker Little may need to earn his starting job. Bringing in someone to compete with him would make sense. On the other hand, left guard Ezra Cleveland has been somewhat underwhelming. Jacksonville could easily invest one of two picks on the offensive line to add both depth and raise the floor.

Coen's comments about potentially adding offensive linemen in the draft start at the 8:34 mark.

The Jaguars have options to beef up the offensive line in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Jacksonville Jaugars will have a wide array of alternatives at No. 5. Nobody would bat an eye if they use the pick on an offensive line, whether it's Armand Membou or Will Campbell. Whoever gets the nod could compete for a starting job at either offensive tackle spot or move inside. Of course, the Jaguars could address the offensive line in later rounds if they want to prioritize other positions.

Josh Simmons and Grey Zabel should be available in Round 2. The former lines up at offensive tackle, while the latter can play all three positions inside. But if Jacksonville wants to wait until Round 3, it will also have options. Tate Ratledge, Blake Miller, Seth McLaughin, and Marcus Mbow will still be on the board at that point of the draft.

You could make the case that the Jaguars no longer have to make additions to the offensive line, but the truth is that it was one of their biggest weaknesses last year. If they really want to turn things around, they'll need to keep making upgrades. They certainly have the ammo to do so in the draft.
