The Jacksonville Jaguars caught lots of heat for making a blockbuster trade to select Travis Hunter second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. To get a deal done, they gave up their first-round pick that year, their 2025 second-round selection, a 2025 fourth-round pick, and their first-rounder in 2026. At the time, that seemed like a hefty price to pay to move up just three spots.
That said, the Jags also got a fourth and a sixth as part of the deal, so it wasn't nearly as lopsided as it looked. They went on to use those selections on running back Bhayshul Tuten and safety Rayuane Lane.
Fast forward to Week 1 of the regular season, and Jacksonville got to see just how good their draft haul looked: The 34-10 win showed that the Browns failed to do much with all the assets they acquired as part of the trade.
The Jaguars made the most of the Travis Hunter trade, the Browns? Not so much
When the Jaguars traded for Travis Hunter, general manager James Gladstone said the franchise couldn't pass up the chance to acquire a sports-altering talent. And while the former Heisman Trophy winner hasn't been able to fulfill his two-way vision, he showed against the Browns just how good a corner he is, giving up just one completion for four yards.
Heck, Hunter played at such a high level that he was only targeted once. Basically, he erased one half of the field, making things substantially tougher for Deshaun Watson. However, the West Palm Beach, Florida native wasn't the only player who was part of the Jaguars' 2025 draft haul who showed out in the season opener.
With Travis Etienne out of the picture, Bhayshul Tuten was able to showcase his home-run speed, toting the rock 15 times for 66 yards. On top of that, he had one catch for 22 yards. Rayuan Lane, for his part, didn't do much of note but still logged 17 snaps on special teams. He's carved out a niche as a gunner.
That's on the Jaguars side of things, though, but how about all those players the Browns drafted after trading the No. 2 pick in 2025? Not much.

The Browns are the losers of the Travis Hunter trade
Draft picks are only as good as the general manager using them, and the Cleveland Browns proved that in the season opener. With the fifth overall pick in 2025, they selected defensive tackle Mason Graham. So far, the former Michigan Wolverine has proven to be a decent starter but not much else. He just had his first career sack against the Jaguars, but other than that, Graham was underwhelming.
Running back Quinshon Judkins left much to be desired in the opener, registering a measly 33 yards on 12 carries. KC Concepcion, the 2026 first-round pick Cleveland got in the Travis Hunter trade, was mostly quiet throughout the game, and it wasn't until late in the fourth quarter that he hauled in a garbage-time touchdown.
Simply put, the Browns' draft haul from the Travis Hunter trade looked unremarkable in Week 1, while Travis Hunter and Bhayshul Tuten helped the Jaguars earn their first win of the 2026 season.
