The Jacksonville Jaguars addressed several needs in free agency and will continue to revamp the roster in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, they could also make a few bargain signings in the upcoming weeks.
Given that the first and second waves of free agency have come and gone, the Jags could ink veterans at a reduced rate. That's led Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report to suggest they add cornerback Kendall Fuller, pointing out that a pass defense that ranked dead last could use upgrades even after adding Jourdan Lewis.
"The Jacksonville Jaguars ranked dead-last in both passing yards allowed and net yards per pass attempt allowed last season. Even after landing Jourdan Lewis in free agency, they could use cornerback help.
Kendall Fuller was released by the Dolphins after only one season in Miami. Concussions limited him to 11 games last season, but he was a mostly reliable starter when healthy.
Pro Football Focus graded Fuller 75th among 222 cornerbacks for the 2024 season."
A third-round pick in the 2016 draft, Fuller spent his first two NFL seasons with the Washington Commanders before bolting to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. He returned in 2020 and went on to spend four years with Washington. As Knox noted, the former Virginia Tech standout joined the Dolphins last year. Throughout his career, he's appeared in 128 games with 104 starts and registered 16 interceptions, 82 passes defensed, and two forced fumbles
In Jacksonville, Fuller would join a group that includes Tyson Campbell, Jarrian Jones, Montaric Brown, and the recently signed Lewis. Having said that, general manager James Glastone told the local media that the team doesn't want to make any additional signings before the draft because the players they would potentially bring in could hinder the development of the incoming rookie class.
This is a long-winded way to say that the Jags may not make any forther signings before the draft.

Why the Jaguars may not be intersted in Kendall Fuller
The pros of signing Kendall Fuller are clear. The Jacksonville Jaguars would no longer need to add a cornerback early in the draft. Instead, they could devote their first and second-round pick to bolster other positions. The defensive front could use upgrades, the same is true for the wide receiver corps and the offensive line.
Once the Jags take care of any of those positions, they could draft a cornerback in Rounds 3 or 4. They have an extra pick in both of those rounds, so they would most definitely be in a position to add depth. On the other hand, Fuller would probably create a logjam at the position.
Fuller would probably compete with Montaric Brown for the CB4 job, and whoever loses the battle will be No. 5. Sophomore DeAntre Prince is also in the fold, so there wouldn't be much room at the position unless the team's brass either move on from Prince or Brown.
This would be a viable scenario if the Jaguars don't plan to bolster their cornerback room in 2025, but if they do, they might as well pass on Fuller and take care of the position in the draft.
The truth is that Kendall Fuller could help several teams. The Jacksonville Jaguars aren't currently one of them, though. Maybe if they suffer an injury in training camp, they should strongly consider giving him a call. But for the time being, it wouldn't make much sense to devote a roster spot to him.
