The Jacksonville Jaguars kept things simple against the Los Angeles Chargers. They kept mistakes to a minimum, they won the battle in the trenches, and leaned on heavy doses of Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten to move the football. The formula paid off, as the Jags won 35-6.
Now, Trevor Lawrence did a good job of distributing the ball and keeping the Chargers guessing by using his legs. That said, Tuten and Etienne also deserve praise for wearing the Los Angeles defense down. In fact, they were so effective that Jacksonville didn't have to use punter Logan Cooke even once.
The Jaguars didn't have a single punt in the win vs. the Chargers
The Jaguars had 10 offensive possessions, and not once did they punt. Twice in the game, they went for it on fourth down and ended up turning the ball over on downs. Lawrence threw a pick in another possession early in the game. And just before halftime and the end of regulation, the clock ran out of time.
If you're keeping count, that's five possessions. In their other five, Jacksonville scored, all while Logan Cooke watched from the sidelines. After the game, the Jaguars social media team made a post about the feat.

Logan Cooke will come through for the Jaguars if needed
Logan Cooke has come through whenever the Jaguars have needed him to punt, which has been often in recent years, so nobody would complain if he was able to take it easy against Los Angeles. Trevor Lawrence, for one,
"Not punts, no field goals today. It's a good day for the specialist. So that's, that's his first time ever having that, he said," Lawrence told the press after the game. "They want to take a picture in the locker room, holding up the zeros for no punts. So I think obviously, Ross [Matiscik] still had the stress on third down, in case we didn't get it. He gets himself pretty hyped up, but didn't have to punt today, so it was great."
This season, Cooke has averaged 42.9 yards per punt, not his best mark by any means but still good enough to get the job done. A seventh-round pick in 2018, the former Mississippi State Bulldog earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2024.
Ideally, the Jaguars won't need to rely on Logan Cooke if they continue to put points on the scoreboard like they did against the Chargers. But in case they don't, he'll come through as usual.
