Throughout Travis Hunter’s early days with the Jacksonville Jaguars, all of his work seemingly came on the offensive side of the ball. All the footage released on social media showed Hunter lining up on offense, catching passes from Trevor Lawrence. That led everyone to ask when will he start to get reps on defense— he is a two-way sensation after all.
The Jaguars have finally given everyone what they wanted to see. Jacksonville’s coaches recently talked about Hunter practicing on defense, now, the team has shared the footage of it actually happening. While it may seem impossible to get more excited about Hunter than Jaguars fans already are, the footage of Hunter at corner certainly challenges that thought.

Travis Hunter has officially practiced on defense and offense for the Jaguars
The caption of the minute-long video was simple: “Figured you guys wanted to see this,” with a smirking emoji, and the social team was absolutely right. Fitted in a white practice jersey, the footage started with the usual: Travis Hunter dancing. It then cycled through a montage of him going through drills and reps against the offense, notably lining up against Brian Thomas Jr.
That freeze frame, once again, put into perspective how special Hunter is as a talent. He’s expected to create an elite pass-catching duo with Thomas, and then turn around and guard receivers of Thomas’ caliber on opposing teams.
Another thing in the short video that served as a reminder of Hunter’s elite abilities were a couple of jumps he made to pull down the ball. Sure, the video was in slow motion, but it still looked like the rookie was floating. Slo-mo or not, Hunter was clearly high above the ground, showing off some impressive airtime. That athleticism is part of the reason he’s able to dominate the game of football the way he does.
All his life, he’s dominated the game on both sides of the ball, including in college, in an unprecedented fashion. Now, he’ll try to do the same in the NFL with the Jaguars, and he’s well on his way.
