Jaguars receivers hit a frustrating roadblock in NFL rankings

• It's a fair spot (for the moment).

Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars were stacked at receiver, they wasted no time adding reinforcements in the NFL Draft, using back-to-back picks on Josh Cameron and CJ Williams.

Now, the Jags have one of the best wide receiver corps not just in the AFC South but the NFL as a whole. Yet, they failed to crack the top 5 in a recent ranking because of one major roadblock.

The Jaguars receiver corps make the top 10 in Bleacher Report's power ranking

Gart Davenport of Bleacher Report ranked the top 10 receiver corps in the NFL. He put the Jaguars at No. 8, arguing that they would have had a higher spot if Brian Thomas Jr. weren't coming off a disappointing 2025.

"Were Brian Thomas Jr. coming off his 2024 season instead of a disappointing 2025 campaign, the Jaguars would be much closer to the top of these rankings. In fact, they might well be ranked No. 1," Davenport wrote. "Parker Washington enjoyed a breakout season in 2025, setting career highs across the board while averaging a robust 14.6 yards per catch."

Davenport continued, "Meyer's numbers weren't as good, but the 29-year-old had his moments after coming over in a midseason trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. But it's Thomas who could be the key to truly unlocking this passing game."

In case you were wondering, the Minnesota Vikings understandably got the top spot due to the trio of Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jauan Jennings. The Dallas Cowboys finished second, while the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams ranked at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

Aside from Jacksonville, the Houston Texans also represented the AFC South in the ranking, popping up at No. 10.

Brian Thomas Jr. and Parker Washington could give the Jaguars the best WR corps in the NFL

There's no doubt that the Jaguars have a pretty good wide receiver corps going into 2026, even though Brian Thomas Jr. is coming off an underwhelming season. But if he bounces back as he's expected, they could field the best unit in the NFL. Based on early signs, that appears to be the case.

Thomas is turning heads at Organized Team Activities. He's been working on his drops and building a better rapport with Trevor Lawrence. Couple that with the fact that he's at full strength after dealing with injuries last year, and the 2024 first-round pick is ready to reclaim his spot as one of the league's most devastating deep threats.

On the other hand, Parker Washington has been putting in the work to build off his impressive 2025. Moreover, the Jags want him to get deep more often next season, so he should be in a position to put up even better numbers. Similarly, Jakobi Meyers will get the benefit of a full offseason in Jacksonville, a luxury he didn't enjoy last year. With more time to fully master the offense, the eight-year veteran should be even more productive. But wait, there's more!

Brent Sobleski forgot to bring up Travis Hunter. The former Heisman Trophy winner will tentatively play cornerback full-time next season, so his snap tally will go up on defense. Having said that, he'll still get plenty of playing time at receiver. With Meyers, Thomas, and Washington in the mix, No. 12 will have plenty of favorable matchups.

If that wasn't enough, rookies CJ Williams and Josh Cameron give the Jags a pair of intriguing developmental prospects who could contribute if called upon next season.

Simply put, the Jaguars have enviable depth and luxury at receiver, and if Brian Thomas Jr. comes through, they'll get widespread recognition across the whole NFL.
