Talent has never been a question for Trevor Lawrence, but speculation surfaced that he's struggled the past two years because his study habits may leave a bit to be desired. The Jacksonville Jaguars might've caught wind of the talk because several players just came to their quarterback's defense.

Heading into training camp, the Jags posted a video on social media where they ask several players who grinds tape the most, and the consensus was Lawrence. Here are their responses.

"Probably QB1, man. I don't think people realize how much time and effort he puts into that film study, so yeah. Trevor, for sure." -- Cam Little, kicker.

"Here, I'm probably going with... Trev, Foye [Oluokun], somebody like that. But like just watching, I would say I'm up there for sure." -- Brian Thomas Jr.

"Trev, it's gotta be a quarterback." -- Josh Hines Allen.

"We all film junkies this year. We ain't got no time for nobody to not be one." Travis Etienne.

You could make the case that the Jaguars are doing some sort of damage control or that they're overreacting to Gregg Rosenthal's claims that Lawrence doesn't study. However, players are simply pushing back and showing that they support their quarterback.

Now, it's really hard to tell from an outside perspective if Lawrence truly doesn't study, but it's fair to say that his teammates have a better insight than reporters and talking heads. And if the former Clemson Tiger doesn't really put in the work, it will eventually show on the field, right? Here's the clip the Jaguars posted below:

Trevor Lawrence will get better coaching from the Jaguars moving forward

You could argue that Trevor Lawrence's study habits could be better. After all, there is always room for improvement. Then again, he hasn't had the best teachers in recent years. Urban Meyer had no idea of what he was doing during his lone season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Once Doug Pederson took over, he was actively involved in the development of his quarterback early in his stint.

By 2024, Pederson had fully delegated Lawrence's coaching to right-hand man Press Taylor, who was underqualified for the task. Granted, the fifth-year quarterback needs to hold himself accountable for his shortcomings, sloppy mechanics, and decision-making. However, he didn't get much help from his team last season.

Fortunately, things have taken a turn, as Pederson is gone and Liam Coen is now the head coach. Right off the bat, Coen made it clear that he would work with Lawrence to hone his footwork and fundamentals. Similarly, he must've given him pointers about his study habits and how to watch a film.

Ultimately, one of two things will happen next season. Either Trevor Lawrence will bounce back or won't. If he does, improved coaching will be brougth up as a reason why.
