The Jacksonville Jaguars got their third win of the season when they beat the Tennessee Titans last week. They'll try to get the fourth one when they welcome the New York Jets at EverBank Stadium in Week 15. One thing working in their favor is that their injury report was nearly empty ahead of the game. The only inclusion was tight end Evan Engram, who was placed on Injured Reserve one day later.

On the other hand, the Jags have lost several key contributors this season. Engram was the latest, but Trevor Lawrence, Christian Kirk, and Gabe Jackson are also on IR. This has led a handful of players to step up. In Engram's case, the team will be leaning on sophomore Brenton Strange.

A second-round pick in last year's draft, Strange already proved his worth when he filled in for Engram, hauling in 12 receptions for 120 yards with two touchdowns in four games earlier this year. Ahead of the Week 15 matchup, head coach Doug Pederson told the local media that he's pleased with the former Nittany Penn State Lion's growth in 2024 and says that Luke Farrell and Josiah Deguara will also get playing time on offense.

"We've been pleased with Brenton, excited about Brenton," Pederson said. "He's done a nice job for us and this would be a great opportunity for him to showcase himself a little bit within our offense. And another opportunity for Luke as well, I think, to get more of an opportunity in these last four games. So expect both those guys and Josiah too. I mean, this would be good for him, and really expect them to continue playing at a high level."

Aside from Strange, quarterback Mac Jones will also need to show out. The former Alabama product has struggled the past few weeks and things won't get any easier when they face the Jets defense, which has talent at all three levels.

One thing that could help Jones, is that aside from Strange, Jones will have several weapons at his disposal despite the fact that injuries have ravaged the offense. Moreover, the Jaguars offensive line has more than held its own this season, so the fourth-year quarterback is in a position to help his team come out on top.

On a roster related note, the Jaguars announced they elevated defensive tackle DJ Coleman to the active roster via standard elevation ahead of the game.
