The best quarterbacks can create something out of nothing, and that's precisely what Trevor Lawrence did for the Jacksonville Jaguars in their 31-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
Down 28-24 with less than two minutes left in the bout, Lawrence drove the Jags down to the Kansas City red zone. One yard away from the goal line, he was stepped on and fell. But he quickly got back on his feet and scored the game-winning touchdown.

What started as a potential disaster quickly became a career-defining play for No. 16, and if head coach Liam Coen had had his way, it wouldn't have happened.
Liam Coen wanted Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence to throw the ball away
Following the win, head coach Liam Coen met with the local media. He said he wished Lawrence had thrown the ball away when he fell but praised him for his toughness, noting that he broke several tackles on his way to the end zone.
"Throw it away," Coen responded when asked what was going through his head. "No. I mean, you know when he got stepped on and he's coming out of it, and you're like, 'Oh my gosh, throw it away,' so we could have another down, man. What an individual effort.
Coen continued, "I mean, obviously tough moment where I can only imagine where he was at in that moment on the ground, but to get up, break what, three tackles, or whatever it was, two tackles, and shed some dude off and go running in the I mean, that's an unbelievable individual effort. Yeah, we'd love it to be cleaner and just make it a nice, executed play. But at the end of the day, it's about winning, and I'm proud of the toughness that he showed at the end of that game."
The Jags got off to a slow start and were even trailing 14-0 at one point in the first half. However, they put their head down and just kept playing. Then, the touchdowns came. First, Lawrence found wide receiver Parker Washington for a three-yard touchdown. He then took matters into his hands and scored Jacksonville's second touchdown to tie the game.
Devin Lloyd's pick 6 was huge to make it 21-14 and give the Jags their first lead of the game. Lawrence then sealed the deal with his wacky touchdown to put the Jags on top 31-28.
Trevor Lawrence showed the Jaguars they can trust him to win games
As critical as Devin Lloyd's touchdown was, there's no doubt that the man of the hour was Trevor Lawrence. Overall, he made plays when the Jaguars needed him the most and limited mistakes as much as he could.
Sure, the former Clemson Tiger was credited with an interception, but the Chiefs should've been flagged for a blatant pass interference call. But if you leave the interception aside, he totaled 251 yards with three total touchdowns and an adjusted 88.2 percent completion rate.
Ultimately, everyone was keeping a close eye on Trevor Lawrence on Monday Night. He came through when the Jaguars needed him the most.
