After dealing with a myriad of ailments the past two years, Trevor Lawrence was the healthiest he's been in a while to open training camp. While he's had a few rough outings, he's shown notable improvement under head coach Liam Coen's tutelage. In fact, offensive coordinator Grant Udinski argues that No. 16 has gotten better in several areas.

Udinski met with the local media following Day 15 of training camp and said that Lawrence has progressively gotten a better grasp of the offense, noting that he's made strides in different areas.

"I think you see that growth in terms of the master of the offense," Udinski responded when asked what he's seen in Trevor Lawrence lately (12:10 mark). "We talked about it a little bit at the very beginning of training camp, and even a little bit in the spring."

Udinski continued, "Now, there are still things around him that can improve, and there are still areas that he can improve, and he knows that. But each day in a different setting or a different play, you see one little thing, or something, it's a lot of things that come together where you see that improvement in terms of that mastery of his role."

Later in the exchange, when asked which areas in particular Lawrence has gotten better in, Udinski said that there are too many to choose from.

"It's hard to pick just one. I try to count all the things that he improved on. Appreciate all of them, so I don't know that I would just pick one. But I think when we look at the operation of the offense and his control of the line of scrimmage, the candence, some of those things that we've still are working to improve as a unit, but his personal growth is evident, and that stuff, the footwork, some of the reads playing fast competition so there's a lot of things that they see. It makes it tough to pick one to work with," Udinski said.

When Coen became the head coach, he began to work with Lawrence to hone his mechanics. They focused on his footwork early on. More recently, the duo has put an emphasis on his progressions.

Trevor Lawrence is in a position to help the Jaguars get back on track

Trevor Lawrence got a monster contract last year and is coming off a pair of injury-marred seasons, so it's fair to say that he's under pressure to deliver. The good news is that the Jaguars are putting him in a position to succeed and reclaim his place as a top-10 quarterback.

Aside from Liam Coen's one-on-one coaching, Lawrence got an improved supporting cast. The front office added Travis Hunter and Dyami Brown to his arsenal of weapons and also fortified the offensive line to ensure he has enough time to throw. On top of that, the Jags will put a renewed emphasis on establishing the run, so No. 16 doesn't have to always carry the team on his shoulders.

When you add it all up, Lawrence is in a position to help the Jaguars compete for a playoff spot and maybe even dethrone the Houston Texans in 2025.

Rightly, Trevor Lawrence's perception around the league has taken a hit the past two years, but if everything goes according to plan, he'll help the Jaguars make noise next season.
