Now that the NFL Scouting Combine is officially getting underway in Indianapolis, it's the perfect time to dive into a brand-new 2026 Jacksonville Jaguars mock draft.
In lieu of witnessing the eloquence of Liam Coen and James Gladstone at Combine media sessions (they're not attending), we might as well fantasize about what the latter might do with his plethora of draft picks.
Although Gladstone traded away his 2026 first-rounder last year to score Travis Hunter, the young GM could still find a way to be bold with his first selection this time around. Rolling the dice on a high-upside playmaker who can unlock yet another level of greatness for quarterback Trevor Lawrence seems like a worthwhile risk to take.
So without further ado, we'll kick of this Jags 2026 mock by breaking down one of the more polarizing prospects who's bound to light it up at workouts in Indy. Be sure to scope out some of Jacksonville's other possible Day 2 targets at the Combine, too.
Jaguars begin 6-round mock draft by adding toolsy playmaker to Trevor Lawrence-led passing attack
Round 2, Pick 56 — Michael Trigg, TE, Baylor
I get that the Jaguars don't want to be influenced by brief player interviews, or what they see at the Combine, hence why they're not sending anyone except for medical staff to evaluate prospects.
That said, when it comes to someone like Baylor tight end Michael Trigg, an in-person chat would be invaluable.
Trigg's talent is not in question. What is in question is why he didn't practice at Ole Miss in 2023 after being medically cleared, leading to his dismissal from the program. The Rebels suspended him for half a game the year prior. Trigg had a one-game suspension in 2024 at Baylor, and got into some sort of altercation with athletic director Mack Rhoades (h/t Steelers Depot).
Despite all the noise and the drama, the 5-star recruit who began his bizarre college career at USC had an excellent 2025 campaign for Baylor, logging 50 catches for 694 yards and six TDs.
Skip right to the four-minute mark of this highlight reel. One of the best one-handed catches you'll ever see. Shows off Trigg's explosiveness, strong hand(s), and ball-tracking skills in one play.
It's obvious that Trigg needs to be a more consistent and willing blocker. He's not always locked in, evident in his seven drops from last season. However, if Liam Coen gets a hold of Trigg and can keep his focus on the task at hand, the ceiling here is seemingly limitless.
Brenton Strange is headed for the final year of his rookie contract in 2026. The only other tight ends, Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long, hit the open market the following year. Jacksonville has a lot of free agents to account for as is this offseason and next.
Tight end is a much greater need than perhaps most Jags fans realize. Michael Trigg is worth a shot, especially since Gladstone has three third-round picks to play with on Day 2.
Three Jaguars 3rd-round picks address defensive problem areas in 6-round mock draft
- Round 3, Pick 81 — Mikail Kamara, EDGE, Indiana
- Round 3, Pick 88 — Devin Moore, CB, Florida
- Round 3, Pick 100 — Genesis Smith, S, Arizona
To help a defense that had 32 sacks in 2025, it'd behoove the Jags' front office to let it rip on a designated pass rusher with at least one of their four draft selections on Day 2.
Indiana national champ Mikail Kamara has an unconventional, squatty build at 6'1", yet he just knows how to get home to the opposing QB. He had 12 sacks (only two in 2025) and 89 pressures across the last two seasons for the Hoosiers after transferring in from James Madison with Curt Cignetti. Kamara is a grinder who Jacksonville could just unleash as a designated pass rusher.
Still weird that Kamara wasn't invited to the Combine.
The next two picks address the thinning Jaguars secondary. Devin Moore is a long 6'2" boundary corner who has a substantial injury history. As long as his big-picture medicals check out OK in Indy, he'd be a great complement to Travis Hunter.
Genesis Smith is a bit all over the place in defending the run (19.8% missed tackle rate in 2025). Good thing the Jags just had the No. 1 run defense in the NFL. Smith excels in coverage, posting an 88.5 PFF grade in that department this past year. He'd be in the running to start right away if he lands in Duval.
Jaguars finish 6-round mock draft strong with Day 3 depth galore
- Round 4, Pick 124 — Gracen Halton, DT, Oklahoma
- Round 5, Pick 162 — Harold Perkins Jr., LB, LSU
- Round 5, Pick 164 — Oscar Delp, TE, Georgia
- Round 7, Pick 233 — Bryce Boettcher, LB, Oregon
- Round 7, Pick 245 — Micah Morris, OL, Georgia
Lots of blue-blood programs make up this lot. We'll begin by breaking down the pair of Georgia Bulldogs. Oscar Delp was in the shadows of Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington to start his time in Athens. Then, he was among seven Georgia players with at least 15 receptions in 2024, and among nine who hit that mark last year.
Suffice it to say, we haven't seen Delp's best football. he's a strong inline blocker and a far better athlete than people realize. Might not be a more underrated player in the entire draft. As for Micah Morris, he's left guard insurance who's surrendered zero sacks and seven pressures over the last three years on
I can only go off what's available to me in the PFF mock simulator as of now. Once the Combine comes and goes, there's approx. a zero point zero percent chance Gracen Halton makes it to Pick 124. In this scenario, though, the Jags don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Halton wins quick as an interior pass rusher and is just what the doctor ordered in Jacksonville for that strength alone.
Finally, a couple linebackers to account for the lack of depth behind Devin Lloyd and Foyesade Oluokun. We've got Bryce Boettcher as a surer-tackling, "safer" prospect who, again, I don't think lasts till the seventh round once April rolls around.
Then there's Harold Perkins Jr., a supreme athlete and possible X-factors you take a flier on. I envision his draft stock going up with a stellar Underwear Olympics performance. Perkins could be an elite run defender at the NFL level. Having mentors like Llloyd and Oluokun sure would help his development.
