With the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select...

While we don't know how that sentence finishes just yet, the Jaguars have a chance to add a great player with the fifth overall pick in the draft. They have plenty of needs to fill so pretty much any direction they decided to go in with this pick could make sense but it appears that draft experts have the Jags leaning toward adding help on the defensive side of the ball.

Two of the three mock drafts used in this roundup piece had the Jaguars taking the same player with the fifth pick. That's not too crazy considering how high Jacksonville is drafting but one draft analyst opted to go in another direction.

CBS Sports: Mason Graham, DL (Michigan)

Chris Trapasso likes the idea of the Jaguars taking Mason Graham with their first-round pick. "The Jaguars get a serious upfield rusher with nose tackle size who's a tremendous run defender in Graham," Trapasso wrote in his latest mock draft.

As mentioned above, Jacksonville needs help pretty much everywhere on the roster so Graham would be a great pick for them. He might not have the prettiest stats in the world (only 3.5 sacks in 2024) but stats don't tell the whole story.

Mel Kiper is also on the 'Mason Graham to the Jaguars' train and stuck with Graham as the pick in his most recent mock draft. Kiper pointed out that "Only the Panthers gave up more yards per play than the Jaguars this past season (5.9). And though the Jags have Arik Armstead and DaVon Hamilton under contract, they could use a dominant force inside between Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen."

Defense wins championships so this wouldn't be an unpopular pick for Jags fans.

NFL.com: Travis Hunter, WR/CB (Colorado)

Arguably the most intriguing prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft is Travis Hunter, who played on the offensive and defensive side of the ball in college. Bucky Brooks had Hunter falling to the Jags in his recent mock draft and said, "Adding a dynamic defensive playmaker could help solidify the Jaguars' coverage and improve their takeaway prowess in a “see ball, get ball” scheme under new DC Anthony Campanile."

Hunter has the ability to play both positions in the pros so the Jaguars would be in good shape here. Furthermore, they didn't even have to trade up to get him, which would make them huge winners if this scenario ended up playing out.
