The 2025 season has been a weird one for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They’ve had weeks where they stack wins and look like one of the better teams in the league, but there have also been times this season where Jacksonville left its fans stressing and scratching their heads. Through it all, though, the team has battled to a 7-4 record with six weeks left in the season.

Not only are all of the Jaguars' goals still attainable, but they have also put themselves in a position every team hopes to be in late in the season. That’s the position of controlling its own destiny. The Jaguars aren’t even in first place of the AFC South heading into Week 13, but if they win out, they will win the division and make the playoffs.

Jaguars control their own destiny in pursuit of AFC South title

After 12 weeks, the Indianapolis Colts are atop the AFC South with an 8-3 record. Jacksonville is right behind with a 7-4 record, the Houston Texans are creeping at 6-5, and the Tennessee Titans are headed towards another No. 1 pick at 1-10. The important thing for the Jaguars, though, as they try to leapfrog Indy, is that they still have their two meetings against the Colts.

Jacksonville will play Indianapolis in Week 14 and in Week 17. Of course, winning both games could go a long way in the division race, but winning both games and the other remaining four on the schedule would guarantee a division crown for the Jaguars.

Winning the last six games would give Jacksonville a 13-4 record and would also hand two losses to Indianapolis. That means even if the Colts win the other four remaining games on their schedule, they’d still just be 12-5.

At the end of the season, all teams want is to control their own fate, and Jacksonville has that. However, winning six more games isn’t an easy task. In addition to the Colts, who are really good, the Jaguars will play the Titans twice, the New York Jets, and the Denver Broncos.

Jacksonville should win against Tennessee, but division games are always tough. Additionally, the Broncos have one of the better records in the league, and the Jets have one of the worst.

All in all, it’s a remaining schedule where the Jaguars should find enough wins to make the postseason, but if they really get in a groove, they could snatch the AFC South crown.
