The Jacksonville Jaguars will enter Week 3 at 1-1, after a devastating loss in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Now, the Jaguars will play their first AFC South game, hosting the Houston Texans on Sunday. The Texans are still searching for their first win of the season, and unfortunately for the Jaguars, history says Houston has a great chance of finding that win in Jacksonville.
The Texans have won their last seven games on the road against the Jaguars, and 12 of their last 14. Simply put, Houston has been automatic in Jacksonville, and the Jaguars are hoping to change that on Sunday.
Jaguars have lost seven straight games at home against Texans
The recent history between the two teams, in general, has been pretty lopsided, with Houston having a 9-1 record in the last 10 meetings, and a 19-6 record in the last 25 meetings. The Texans lead the all-time series 31-15, but the Jaguars will try to turn the tide on Sunday when the teams meet.
Jacksonville looks like the better team through two games, as they are 1-1, winning 26-10 in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers, and losing 31-27 in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Houston, on the other hand, is 0-2 after losing 14-9 to the Los Angeles Rams and 20-19 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Texans were in both games, but poor offensive play ultimately kept them from winning.
Houston will now try to change that against a team it is familiar with, in a place where it wins a lot. The Jaguars, who are clearly navigating growing pains as a team with a new head coach and new key players, will do their part to prevent that, and try to end the streak of losing at home to the Texans.
