Since the Jacksonville Jaguars hired James Gladstone as their general manger in 2025, he's wasted no time giving the roster a substantial overhaul. Sure, not all of the moves he's made have pan out, but there's no doubt that the team is in better shape than it was a couple years ago.
While there's plenty of work left, Gladstone's vision is coming to frution, and that's reflected in this 53-man roster prediction with Organized Team Activities underway.
Jaguars 53-man roster projection with OTAs underway: Offense (24 players)
Jaguars quarterbacks (2): Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullens
The Jaguars signed Joey Aguilar in the aftermath of the draft. He'll push Carter Bradley for the No. 3 job behind Trevor Lawrence and Nick Mullens. But even if Aguilar makes a strong impression, it's hard to see him earning a roster spot.
After all, Jacksonville only carried two quarterbacks last year. Don't expect that to change in 2026, with Trevor Lawrence firmly entrenched behind center, and Mullens slated to be the primary backup at quarterback.
Jaguars running backs (4): Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez, LeQuint Allen Jr., J'Mari Taylor
The Jags added Ameer Abdullah after the NFL Draft. In any other year, the 2015 second-round pick would have a chance to make the team, but Jacksonville is stacked at running back. Heck, undrafted rookie J'Mari Taylor could push DeeJay Dallas out.
With that said, the RB4 job will be one of the position battles to watch throughout the offseason, but Taylor should come out on top.
Jaguars receivers (5): Jakobi Meyers, Josh Cameron, CJ Williams, Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington
The Jaguars had a pretty good wide receiver corps but needed to round it out, so they drafted CJ Williams and Josh Cameron. While Travis Hunter will keep getting a substantial role on offense, he'll play cornerback full-time next season. That will pave the way for rookie CJ Williams and Josh Cameron to make the team.
While Cameron is still recovering from a calf strain he sustained earlier this year, Williams made an impression at rookie minicamp, but both of them should feel good about their odds of making the team.
Jaguars tight ends (4): Brenton Strange, Tanner Koziol, Nate Boerkircher, Quintin Morris
The Jaguars raised eyebrows for taking tight end Nate Boerkricher at No. 56 and later double-dipping at the position with Tanner Koziol in Round 4. Nevertheless, they wanted to add another dimension to their offense. Both of them will help them accomplish their vision even though Brenton Strange remains the unquestioned No. 1 on the depth chart.
The fourth spot at tight end will come down to either Hunter Long or Quintin Morris. It should go to the latter, as the coaching staff is high on him.
Jaguars offensive linemen (9) Walker Little, Cole Van Lanen, Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Emmanuel Pregnon, Wyatt Milum, Jonah Monheim, Anton Harrison
The Jaguars brought back most of their offensive line from 2025. This is why it's not particularly shocking that their only addition up from was rookie Emmanuel Pregnon at No. 88 in the draft. Having said that, a couple jobs could be up for grabs.
Pregnon and sophomore Wyatt Milum could challenge Ezra Cleveland and Patrick Mekari for the starting jobs at left and right guard. On the other hand, left tackle Walker Little will try to rebuild his stock, while Cole Van Lanen recovers from a knee injury.
The only hog molly in Jacksonville in danger of getting the boot is Chuma Edoga, and he'll probably get it.
Jaguars 53-man roster projection with OTAs underway: Defense (26 players)
Jaguars pass rushers (6): Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, Danny Striggow, B.J. Green II, Wesley Williams, Zach Durfee
Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker give the Jaguars one of the top pass-rush tandems in the NFL, but they're missing a No. 3 to round out their rotation. The team's brass is counting on the trio of Striggow, Williams, and Durfee to step up in the offseason program. If they came up short, Jacksonville may need to bring in external help.
However, it looks like the Jags are confident that their young group of pass rushers can make strides as the year progresses.
Jaguars defensive tackles (4): Ruke Orhorhoro, Albert Regis, Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton
Even though the interior defensive line appeared to be a priority, the Jaguars didn't address it early in the draft and instead waited until Round 3 to select Albert Regis: they're counting on him and Ruke Orhorhoro to round out a group that includes Arik Armstead and DaVon Hamilton.
It will be interesting to see if the addition of Orhorhoro and Regis was enough, but having Travon Walker line up at defensive tackle at times will most definitely help.
Jaguars linebackers (6): Jalen McLeond, Ventrell Miller, Foyesade Oluokun, Jack Kiser, Dennis Gardeck, Parker Hughes
Even after the departure of Devin Lloyd, this is an intriguing group, with a nice mix of youth and experience. Ventrell Miller is the favorite to replace Lloyd next to Foyesade Oluokun, but Dennis Gardeck should also see plenty of snaps on defense.
Jaguars cornerbacks (5): Jarrian Jones, Davon Marshall, Montaric Brown, Jourdan Lewis, Travis Hunter
The Jaguars re-signed Montaric Brown before free agency. He'll primarily line up in the boundaries opposite Travis Hunter. Jourdan Lewis and Jarrian Jones will mostly man the slot but could play outside if needed. Jacksonville will need depth behind them.
That makes Christian Braswell a trendy candidate to earn the CB5 spot, but nobody would bat an eye if undrafted free agent Davon Marshall stuns everyone and makes the team.
Jaguars safeties (5): Caleb Ransaw, Antonio Johnson, Eric Murray, Rayuan Lane III, Jalen Huskey
The safety position could turn out to be a strength for the Jaguars in 2025. Antonio Johnson and Eric Murray should be the early favorites to start in the back end, but Caleb Ransaw and Jalen Huskey could make a push for a big role next season.
Rayuan Lane flashed as a rookie, but he's better suited for to play special teams and reserve role on defense. Still, he could start if pressed into action.
Jaguars 53-man roster projection with OTAs underway: Special Teams (3 players)
Kicker Cam Little, long-snapper Ross Matiscik, punter Logan Cooke
This is the one group where you won't find any changes in any projection ahead of the regular season.
