The Jacksonville Jaguars opted not to make many flashy moves in free agency, opting instead to retain most of their own players. Sure, linebacker Devin Lloyd, cornerback Greg Newsome, and running back Travis Etienne left, but the Jags managed to re-sign a couple of core defensive pieces in cornerback Montaric Brown and linebacker Dennis Gardeck.

The team's brass also signed Chris Rodriguez and Jake Bobo to add depth at running back and receiver, respectively. On the other hand, Jacksonville has yet to address the interior defensive line or the pass rush. Then again, that's what the draft will be for.

With 11 draft picks, general manager James Gladstone should have no trouble infusing the team with plenty of talent. For the time being, here's a current look at the 53-man roster, fully knowing that it will undergo significant changes in the upcoming months.

Jaguars 53-man roster after free agency: Offense (25 players)

Jaguars quarterbacks (2): Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullens

Unlike past seasons, there's no doubt that Trevor Lawrence enters the offseason program as the unquestioned answer behind center. If he stays healthy and once again plays at a top-10 level, Nick Mullens will only see mop-up duty in 2026.

Jaguars running backs (4): Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez, LeQuint Allen Jr., DeeJay Dallas

Perhaps DeeJay Dallas could make a push for a roster spot but might ultimately land in the practice squad. Bhayshul Tuten is trending toward being RB1, but Chris Rodriguez could also have a significant workload.

LeQuint Allen Jr. will mostly see time as a pass blocker and a pass-catcher out of the backfield in passing downs.

Jaguars receiver (6): Travis Hunter, Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jake Bobo, Tim Jones

Travis Hunter gives the Jaguars a two-way player who only uses one roster spot. The wide receiver corps is set following the Jake Bobo signing with Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyer, and Parker Washington in the mix.

Jacksonville also brought back Tim Jones, along with 14 more players, on a reserve/future contract, but may have trouble making the cut after Jake Bobo's arrival.

Jaguars tight ends (3): Brenton Strange, Quintin Morris, Hunter Long

This unit will remain pretty much the same, minus Johnny Mundt, who was released during free agency. Brenton Strange remains the starter, while Quintin Morris and Hunter Long will mostly contribute as blockers.

Jaguars offensive linemen (10): Walker Little, Cole Van Lanen, Jonah Monheim, Wyatt Milum, Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Anton Harrison, Cooper Hodges

Until further notice, Walker Little stays in Jacksonville, but nobody will bat an eye if he's traded before, during, or after the draft. Similarly, Chuma Edoga could be a cap casualty.

Cole Van Lanen should be firmly entrenched as Trevor Lawrence's blindside protector, while Anton Harrison is slated to start at right guard. The trio of Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, and Patrick Mekari returns. Wyatt Milum and Jonah Monheim are behind them.

Cooper Hodges, for his part, will have a steep hill to climb to get a roster spot after missing substantial time each of the past three years with injuries.

Jaguars 53-man depth chart after free agency: Defense (25 players)

Jaguars pass rushers (5): Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, Danny Striggow, B.J. Hill, Jalen McLeod

Here's a group that could use reinforcements in the draft. Danny Striggow and B.J. Hill showed promise after going undrafted last year, but Jacksonville could use a No. 3 who can have an impact behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker.

It will be interesting to see who the coaching staff uses, Jalen McLeod, who missed his rookie season with an injury. He can rush the quarterback from a standup position or play on a three-point stance.

Jaguars defensive tackles (5): Maason Smith, Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton, Matt Dickerson, Keivie Rose

Given that defensive tackle is arguably the Jags' most pressing need, this group will inevitably get a makeover in the draft. For the time being, Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton, Matt Dickerson, and Maason Smith return, while Keivie Rose serves as a placeholder.

Smith may or may not make the initial 53-man roster, and Matt Dickerson should have a favorable chance of getting the nod after landing in Jacksonville last year and getting a one-year deal this past March.

Arik Armstead and DaVon Hamilton are the top-2 defensive tackles on the roster. They'll stick around in 2026, but beyond that, it's hard to tell.

Jaguars linebackers (5): Yasir Abdullah, Ventrell Miller, Foyesade Oluokun, Jack Kiser, Dennis Gardeck

The Jaguars saw Devin Lloyd leave in free agency. The team's brass could look for a potential replacement in the draft, but Ventrell Miller should get an opportunity to compete for the starting job next to Foyesade Oluokun, who's a lock to make the team. On the other hand, Dennis Gardeck is poised to build off of his promising 2025 and have a bigger impact after signing a two-year deal to return to Duval.

Even without Lloyd, the linebacker position remains a strength for Jacksonville, with Jack Kiser and Abdullah providing depth. The latter could be a candidate to make a leap in Year 2.

Jaguars cornerbacks (5): Montaric Brown, Jarrian Jones, Jourdan Lewis, Keni-H Lovely, Christian Braswell

Even though Travis Hunter will tentatively play defense full-time in 2026, the fact that he's listed at receiver could give the Jags flexibility to allocate an extra spot at cornerback. Montaric Brown will start in the boundary slot opposite Hunter, while Jarrian Jones or Jourdan Lewis will play inside. Then again, either one could get playing time in the perimeter if needed.

Christian Braswell and Keni-H Lovely make the cut for the time being. Both of them will have a chance to compete for a roster spot but could end up facing an uphill battle if the Jags add a cornerback in the early rounds of the draft, which is likely to happen.

Jaguars safeties (5): Antonio Johnson, Caleb Ransaw, Rayuan Lane III, Eric Murray, Cam'Ron Samlon-Craig (or Trevian Thomas)

Maybe the Jaguars will add depth at safety in the draft but could roll into the regular season with their current group if they signed Cam'ron Salmon-Craig or Trevian Thomas to the practice squad. With Andrew Wingard bolting for the Arizona Cardinals, the coaching staff will give sophomore Caleb Ransaw a chance to compete with Antonio Johnson and Eric Murray for a starting job.

As a rookie, Rayuan Lane became a mainstay on special teams but also showed promise when pressed into action.

Kicker Cam Little, long-snapper Ross Matiscik, punter Logan Cooke

Barring injuries, don't expect any changes to the trio of Cam Little, Ross Matiscik, and Logan Cooke.
