The Jacksonville Jaguars were among the NFL's biggest (and most pleasant) surprises in 2025. They turned a massive corner in Liam Coen's first year as head coach and proved to be one of fantasy football's most profitable offenses.
Franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence is fresh off being fantasy's overall QB1 in points per game (22.9) since Week 5. He supported two top-30 wide receivers between veteran Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington. Departed starting running back Travis Etienne was a borderline league-winner relative to his average draft position (ADP).
Can Lawrence and Co. repeat their efforts in 2026? Time will tell, especially with some new faces entering the building and old ones leaving.
Of course, the most pressing question for folks considering investing in Jacksonville again this season is their wideout hierarchy. Meyers paced them in targets (61) and receptions (42) from his Week 10 debut onward. Washington led the group in receiving yards (847), however, and 2024 first-round pick Brian Thomas Jr. still has believers coming off a down sophomore campaign.
Lest we forget, too, Jacksonville went all out to trade up and choose cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter with the No. 2 selection last April. His real-life value derives from a unique two-way skill set that the club hasn't wavered on (despite conflicting reporting). Anticipated usage on both sides only adds to the uncertainty.
Second-year running back Bhayshul Tuten is someone all fantasy managers have on their radar following Etienne's offseason exit to the New Orleans Saints. Jags head coach Liam Coen is among many who are eager to see what the speedster can do in an expanded role.
On a much lesser scale, how the tight end room shakes out is also in focus. Brenton Strange became one of the highest-paid players at the position just months after second- and fifth-round rookies Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol's respective arrivals. It remains to be seen whether any of them can carve out a valuable pass-catching role or if they will cannibalize each other.
Needless to say, there are many moving parts in Duval County. Training camp and the preseason will give us a much better idea of what to expect. We'll do our best to keep you up to speed on the relevant post-summer break news.
Note: This story will be updated regularly throughout the Jacksonville Jaguars' training camp and preseason.
Latest fantasy football updates for the Jaguars: News, injuries and position battles
Brian Thomas Jr. is looking like the 2024 version of himself -- 8/9
Shipley noted that Thomas Jr. is running cleaner and crisper routes. He's won his one-on-one reps with regularity and hasn't dropped the ball much, which is a positive sign. It seems Year 2 in Liam Coen's system will yield better results for Thomas Jr.
Jaguars backfield will be committee approach -- 8/7
John Shipley of Jaguars OnSI reported that Jacksonville has gotten into a rhythm with their backfield. In a scrimmage, Bhayshul Tuten played between the 20s, LeQuint Allen came in on third down, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. played near the goal line. That makes things difficult for fantasy managers, as it's difficult to gauge who will get the bulk of carries in any game.
Parker Washington continues to stand out in pass game -- 8/4
According to Shipley, Washington was peppered with targets in practice and was the main option in the aerial attack. He got seven targets during recorded periods but four of those passes fell incomplete. Despite that, the high volume shows how much they want to involve him in the offense.
Brian Thomas Jr. has been stellar this offseason -- 8/3
After months of trade speculation, Thomas Jr. has been one of the best players on the field for Jacksonville. And his connection with head coach Liam Coen is improving.
"He's run a lot of routes out here that maybe weren't getting targeted to him that he's won as well that I've been pleased with. So, I think it brings everybody up," Coen said after practice per John Shipley of JaguarsonSI.
Chris Rodriguez Jr. gets eased back into action -- 8/2
It was Rodriguez's "first action in team drills" (h/t News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr).
Rodriguez is slowly ramping up. His return gives him a chance to derail the hype surrounding speedy second-year back Bhayshul Tuten.
Parker Washington is undeniable -- 8/2
At this point, it'd be more surprising if Washington didn't end his day with at least one highlight. He's been a consistent bright spot and has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon (h/t News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr).
Aug. 2, 2026 gets coined 'Travis Hunter Day'
Hunter was making plays on offense and defense. For our purposes, he reeled in an impressive grab on a deep pass from Trevor Lawrence (h/t News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr).
Happy Travis Hunter Day to all who celebrate. Hopefully, this is only the beginning, making him an exciting low-risk, high-reward dart throw at his current consensus WR63 ADP in point-per-reception (PPR) formats.
CJ Williams has 'turned a lot of heads' -- 8/2
The sixth-round rookie has been a pleasant surprise thus far (h/t News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr).
Something went horribly wrong if Williams is a fantasy factor in 2026. He's a name to file away in dynasty formats, however.
'Fantastic' Trevor Lawrence sets the tone -- 7/31
Lawrence "made several tight-window throws for touchdowns in the [red zone] that stood out" to Sports Illustrated's John Shipley. There appears to be a noticeable level of comfort heading into Year 2 under head coach Liam Coen.
Not only is Lawrence making great passes, but he's also not afraid to toss the ball into a crowd. That speaks to his increased confidence in Coen's scheme, and it seems like it's all systems go in Jacksonville.
Bhayshul Tuten buzz gets louder -- 7/30
Tuten's "terrific performances have simply been a consistent part of the Jaguars' offseason practices and early days of training camp," via Sports Illustrated's John Shipley. The speedy playmaker has gotten "the vast majority of reps alongside [QB] Trevor Lawrence."
Let the drumbeat roll! It's wheels up for Tuten, whose status in the rankings will only continue to rise with each glowing review. He's currently going as a fringe RB2 in point-per-reception formats.
Tanner Koziol on the rise? -- 7/30
Koziol followed up his immediate chance to work with Lawrence and the starters by turning in some "strong reps" (h/t Sports Illustrated's John Shipley).
There are far too many guys ahead of Koziol in the pecking order right now to treat him as anything other than a dynasty flier. An injury to Strange may change the conversation, nonetheless.
Parker Washington's rapport with Trevor Lawrence on display -- 7/30
Washington "led the way when it came to the connection" with Lawrence (h/t Sports Illustrated's John Shipley). BTJ also had "multiple big gains" on tosses from the Jags' franchise signal-caller, for whatever it's worth.
Shipley added that nothing has changed his belief that Jacksonville will "spread the ball around and ride the hot hands whenever the time comes." It's anyone's guess which of Meyers, Thomas or Washington is the No. 1 target, or if it even matters. Do with that what you will.
LeQuint Allen Jr. keeps the momentum going -- 7/30
Allen "popped loose for a nice run" on yet another Lawrence handoff (h/t News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr).
Are we focused on the wrong second-year back? Allen is quietly stacking good days.
LeQuint Allen Jr. gets first-team carries? -- 7/29
With Rodriguez limited, LeQuint Allen Jr. received reps with the first-string unit and took advantage of the opportunities. The 2025 seventh-round pick ran all the way to the end zone on a handoff from Lawrence (h/t News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr).
Keep an eye on Allen, who seems slotted for a third-down/pass-catching role at the minimum.
Jaguars throw rookie TEs into the fire -- 7/29
Boerkircher and Koziol both began camp by earning "some very valuable reps with the offense and Trevor Lawrence," according to John Shipley of Sports Illustrated. While it didn't translate to a standout day for either TE, the Jaguars' willingness to test the youngsters early is encouraging in itself.
Primarily a blocker, Boerkircher likely won't land on the fantasy radar anytime soon. Koziol is sneakily interesting, recording 168 receptions, 1,566 yards and 14 touchdowns across his final two collegiate seasons (one at Ball State, one at Houston).
Chris Rodriguez Jr. says he 'feels good to go' -- 7/29
Rodriguez participated in position drills but wasn't part of the team portion of practice. The free-agent acquisition declared himself "good to go" and said he'll be ready for Week 1 (h/t News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr).
Jacksonville appears to be easing Rodriguez back into action. He missed time in the spring while rehabbing from an unspecified left foot procedure. The severity of the issue is still unclear, yet his status certainly has significant ramifications for Tuten's outlook.
Travis Hunter works with offense and defense -- 7/29
There has been speculation that might clip Hunter's wings and limit him to primarily serving as a corner this season. True to his word, Coen continues to show us that's not part of the Jaguars' plan. The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner logged reps with the offense and defense during individual and team drills, per News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr.
Hunter's disappointing rookie showing was cut short by a torn LCL that required surgery. He has no limitations entering camp, though his recovery and involvement in the Jags' passing attack are stories to watch.
Actionable Jaguars fantasy takeaways
We want pieces of Coen's productive aerial assaults, including Lawrence, who's somehow barely being treated as a QB1. All of Meyers, Thomas, and Washington are worthwhile options at their ADPs. Hunter is a worthwhile flier with plenty of upside.
