When the Jacksonville Jaguars placed left tackle Anton Harrison on the Injured Reserve list, the hope was that he could return at some point in the season. However, that won't be the case.

Ian Rapoport dropped the news that Harrison underwent an arthroscopic procedure and will miss the remainder of the season, adding that his knee was more damaged than originally expected.

With Harrison done for the year, Walker Little will remain at left tackle for the remainder of the season.

Walker Little will be the Jaguars left tackle with Anton Harrison out for the year

Anton Harrison originally hurt his knee against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. He was carted off the field, so you know it was serious. On the other hand, it was uncertain just how severe it was until he had the arthroscopic procedure done. The Jaguars now know.

A first-round pick in 2023, Harrison had lined up at right tackle the past three seasons but moved to the left side in the offseason. He had done a superb job protecting Trevor Lawrence, giving up 13 pressures and two sacks. Losing him for the season most definitely stings, but Walker Little will help soften the blow.

Little, a second-round pick in 2021, stepped in at left tackle when Harrison left the Week 5 contest. Although he was flagged once that game, he didn't allow a sack or a pressure. The former Stanford Cardinal followed that up with no sacks and just two pressures against the Houston Texans the following week.

There were doubts about Little manning the left tackle spot because he struggled and was eventually benched in 2025. But if he keeps playing like he has the past two weeks, the Jacksonville offense will be alright without Harrison.

Sophomore Wyatt Milum will probably serve as the swing tackle the remainder of the season. It may be bad news if he has to be thrust into action. The former West Virginia Mountaineer competed for the right guard job in the offseason but wasn't able to seize it. He was so underwhelming that the Jags traded for Daniel Faalele.

The Jaguars will miss Anton Harrison but Walker Little is ready to step up

It's never good to see players go down with injuries, even less if they have to miss substantially. That said, injuries are an inherent part of the sport, and teams have to be prepared for the worst-case scenario. That's the situation the Jaguars find themselves in after the Anton Harrison news.

For his part, Harrison will have to go through the arduous process of recovering. The team will eventually share his timeline, but it's fair to assume that he may not be ready to go for the offseason program. It's also worth noting that his contract runs through 2027 after Jacksonville picked up the fifth-year option in his rookie deal, so the former Oklahoma Sooner will be incentivized get back at full strength and pick up where he left off.

In the meantime, Walker Little will be tasked with holding the fort. He was seen as a potential trade candidate in the offseason but ultimately stayed put. Keep in mind that releasing him or trading him next year would free up more than $10 million in space, so the Houston, Texas native will have a chance to build his stock and show that he deserves to stick around.

In the meantime, the show must go in.
