The Jacksonville Jaguars could take several path with the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. One that isn't discussed nearly enough is the possibility of trading down. This is part because there don't appear to be many clubs interested in moving up right now. That said, PeterPrisco of CBS Sports believes the Chicago Bears would be the ideal trade partner.

In his latest mock draft, Prisco has the Jags trading down to No. 10 and picking Tetairoa McMillan, arguing that the former Arizona Wildcat would round out their wide receiver corps.

"They move down and then add a receiver who can help upgrade their passing game. With Brian Thomas Jr. in as the top guy, McMillan would make for a nice 1-2 punch with his size and ability to make the 50-50 plays."

To execute the trade, Prisco has the Bears giving Jacksonville one of their two second-round picks. They currently hold picks No. 39 and 41. Either one would be high enough to potentially get a deal done and would allow the Jaguars to select a high-impact player.

With the fifth overall selection, Chicago would then choose Ashton Jeanty, the best running back prospect in a class loaded with talent at the position.

This isn't the first time that the Bears have been brought up as a potential trade partner for the Jags. That said, there are no reports that point to either team being interested in pulling it off. Still, the prospect of moving down a few spots and getting McMillan would be an interesting one. After all, he's the best non-Travis Hunter receiver available in the draft.

While McMillan lacks top-end speed, he has amazing size at the position and superb yard-after-the-catch capability. On top of that, he can line up anywhere across the line of scrimmage. Add it all up, and he would give Trevor Lawrence the weapon he's missing in his arsenal.

It wasn't that long ago that a clip of McMillan saying that he doesn't watch football or study outside of the facilities was circulating. It raised questions about his commitment to the game and his study habits. However, many players don't watch tape when they're not working and the video was taken a couple of years ago, so it shouldn't be an issue.

The Jaguars land Tetairoa McMillan and extra picks

The Jacksonville Jaguars could easily pick Tetairoa McMillan with the fifth overall selection. However, there's a strong chance that he would be available at No. 10 if they don't. That's why this trade makes sense.

The issue is that that the Jaguars would need the Bears or another team to agree to a trade, and there's no guarantee they will. If they do, though, they could would be in a favorable position to address two positions in Round 2. The front office could either add a defensive tackle, an offensive lineman or a pass rusher.

Moreover, a trade down would be the best course of action if their top targets are gone by the time they're on the clock. Given that they hold the fifth overall pick, there's a strong chance at least one or two of their guys will be available.

The bottom line is that trading down sounds great on paper, but executing it may not be as easy as analysts (guilty as charged) may want to make it sound.
