The Jacksonville Jaguars can start preparing for the offseason after losing to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 18. The first thing on their to-do list will be to make a decision on Doug Pederson and Trent Baalke. If/when the Jags move on from them, they'll have to look for their potential replacements. Once they check off that box, they must evaluate their roster and decide which players they'll keep and which ones to let loose.

The team's brass has already begun to lock up some of their most prominent players. In 2024, they gave long-term deals to Trevor Lawrence, cornerback Tyson Campbell, defensive end Josh Hines-Allen, and left tackle Walker Little.

But despite making progress last year, the Jaguars will still have their work cut out when it comes to deciding which players they'll re-sign. With that in mind, here's a look at the team's pending free agents.

Jacksonville Jaguars unrestricted free agents in 2025

An unrestricted free agent in the NFL has accrued at least four seasons and can choose which team they want to sign with. The jaguars

  • Mac Jones, QB
  • C.J. Beathard, QB
  • Andre Cisco, S
  • D'Ernest Johnson, RB
  • Luke Farrell, TE
  • Josiah Deguara, TE
  • Brandon Scherff, OG
  • Blake Hance, OG
  • Caleb Johnson, LB
  • Jeremiah Ledbetter, DL

Mac Jones and Andre Cisco are the most prominent Jaguars set to hit the open market. Both of them flashed at times in 2024 but neither didn't do enough to earn a long-term extension.

Cisco was seen as a breakout candidate ahead of the season but was inconsistent. He may want to test the market and see what's out there. Mac Jones, on the other hand, struggled early on but played better as the year progressed. He may still need to compete for a job in 2025, but teams who want to add competition to their quarterback room may be interested in his services.

Right guard Brandon Scherff was solid the past three years, but his play never truly matched the $54 million contract he signed in 2022. The Jaguars will probably look for a younger (and possibly cheaper) replacement in the offseason.

The rest of the bunch are either reserve or special teams contributors. They may or may not return in 2025.

Jacksonville Jaguars exclusive rights free agents in 2025

Exclusive rights free agents are players with two or fewer accrued seasons. To accrue a season, a player must spend at least six games on either the active roster, the physically unable to perform list or Injured Reserve. Time on special teams doesn't count. The Jaguars will have two of them in 2025.

  • Esezi Otomewo, DL
  • De'Shaan Dixon, DL

Esezi Otomewo was a fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2022. He landed on the Jaguars practice squad the following year and made the 53-man roster in 2024. He ended up appearing in five games for Jacksonville.

De'Shaan Dixon signed with the Jags after going undrafted in 2022 and made the 53-man roster as a rookie. He spent the 2023 season as a rookie and was active for three games this past season.

To keep either one or both, the Jaguars need to extend a qualifier offer, which is a one-year contract at the league's minimum salary. If they don't make them an offer, they'll be free to sign with whichever team they want.

Both of them have worked on their craft and progressively gotten better, so the next regime may want to keep them and offer them a chance to compete for a roster spot in 2025.

Jacksonville Jaguars restricted free agents in 2025

Restricted free agents are players with three accrued seasons. Teams can place a one-year tender on them, and other clubs can match it. Wide receiver Tim Jones and offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen fit that category for the Jaguars.

  • Tim Jones, WR
  • Cole Van Lanen, OL

The former Mississippi State Golden Eagle went undrafted in 2021 and spent his rookie season in the practice squad. He managed to make the 53-man roster as a sophomore and has carved a niche on special teams. Bringing him back wouldn't be cost-prohibitive.

Meanwhile, Van Lanen was a sixth-round pick in the 2021 draft by the Green Bay Packers. He spent his rookie season in the practice squad and was traded to the Jags the following year. The former Wisconsin standout didn't get much playing time until late in the 2024 when he filled in for Walker Little.

His versatility to play different spots across the offensive line could help him stay in Jacksonville.
