Even though Leonard Fournette never turned into the All-Pro running back the Jacksonville Jaguars envisioned when they drafted him fourth overall in 2017, he had an ok NFL career. Think about it, he ran for more than 1,000 yards in two of his four NFL seasons. And once he bolted for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playoff Lenny was a game-changer on his way to the Super Bowl. Simply put, he's got the resume to talk about football, something Emmanuel Acho lacks.

Although Acho was a fringe player during his brief NFL career, he routinely makes headlines due to his baffling takes. For instance, he said that fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders shouldn't listen to Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken because he had never accomplished anything as a head coach.

Rightly, Acho was lambasted and became the laughing stock of the NFL. Using that logic, the Jags should have never hired Liam Coen in 2025 because he had never been a head coach before. They did hire him and went 13-4 in his first season at the helm.

Anyway, Fournette said that he wouldn't play for new Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski because of his management of Sanders. This led Acho to say that Stefanski was "the best thing that had happened to the Browns since he was born." Playoff Lenny caught wind of the comments and clapped back. Acho didn't like it one bit.

Emmanuel Acho didn't like that former Jaguars star Leonard Fournette blasted him

Following Emmanuel Acho's comments about Kevin Stefanski, Leonard Fournette said that he was [expletive], bringing up his football acumen or lack thereof as the reason why he had no business being an analyst.

"I'm trying to keep my mind clear. Emmanuel Acho, was he a starter? Oh, he was a bench player," Fournette said. "It says 33 tackles in your career. It says he started two games in his career. Out of every NFL analyst they have, he has the weakest resume."

Acho didn't appreciate Fournette's remarks and fired back. Here's what he had to say.

Obviously, my career, not good at all. Bum, backup, all the things, but I was a sixth-round pick. I probably should have been," Acho said on his podcast. "Leonard Fournette won a Super Bowl. I'm happy for you, but why you got a podcast in your hand? Why don't you have a football in your hand? Because eight running backs drafted after Leonard Fournette were still in the league last year. Top-five running back, Adrian Pearson was a top-five running back. LaDainian Tomlinson was a top-five running back. So let's not talk about careers, because if we're being honest, based on where we were drafted, we both underwhelmed in the NFL. Let's talk about the takes."

Acho continued, "The takes say that Kevin Stefanski was the best thing that happened to the Cleveland Browns. The takes say that Kevin Stefanski was really good when he had a good quarterback going to the playoffs and winning a playoff game; the takes were accurate. The last time you were born, the Browns have not seen a coach better than Kevin Stefanski. That is the take. You start talking about credentials. There's no need to talk about credentials. I didn't have a good NFL career, but we start talking about credentials."

That's only half of it. Here's Acho's full monologue if you want to give it a listen.

The irony is that Acho says there's no need to bring up credentials, but that's the exact argument to question Cleveland's decision to hire Todd Monken, who was a highly successful offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.

Emmanuel Acho has had his fair share of puzzling Jaguars takes

The trouble with talking heads like Emmanuel Acho is that they're trying to stir the pot rather than offering thoughtful analysis. Heck, he's had his fair share of head-scratching takes involving the Jags.

Back in 2024, Acho said that Trevor Lawrence didn't deserve to get paid. Fast forward to 2026, and his contract looks like a bargain. Moreover, No. 16 is coming off the best season of his football career.

Speaking of Lawrence, Acho also argued that the hit Azeez Al-Shaair laid on him wasn't dirty at all. It was.

Now that Emmanuel Acho got a bit of pushback, he didn't take it kindly, so props to former Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette for calling him out.
