After their impressive 2025, the Jacksonville Jaguars could lose offensive coordinator Grant Udinski to a team with a head-coaching vacancy. This isn't necessarily shocking when you consider that he played a huge role in their offensive renaissance.

Already, Udinski has interviewed for the opening with the Cleveland Browns and is also a candidate for the job with the Buffalo Bills. Of course, there's a chance the Jags will get to keep him. But if he leaves, their dream candidate to replace him just went off the market.

The Buccaneers are hiring Zac Robinson as their offensive coordinator

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly finalizing a deal to hire Zac Robinson as their offensive coordinator. Josh Grizzard held the position in 2025 but was let go after failing to perform at a satisfactory level.

Robinson was the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons in 2025. Before that, he was the pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach with the Los Angeles Rams. It was during his stint in LA that Robinson worked with Liam Coen, making him a fit to potentially replace Grant Udinksi if he leaves for an offensive coordinator job.

Last year, the Falcons ranked 14th in total offense and 24th in points scored. On the other hand, their running game was eighth in rushing yards and 14th in touchdowns.

Robinson was suggested by John Shipley of Sports Illustrated. With him out of the mix, the Jags could promote pass game coordinator Shane Waldron or go after Kevin Carbery, who's also worked with Coen. Another option would be to make quarterbacks coach Spencer Whipple the new offensive coordinator. This makes sense when you take into account that he knows firsthand how the offense operates and what Coen wants.

The Jaguars need to be prepared if Grant Udinski leaves

Grant Udinski is quickly rising through the coaching ranks after just one season as the offensive coordinator, despite the fact that he's 30 years old. This shows that teams really hold him in high regard, and why wouldn't they? Wherever he goes, his quarterbacks perform at a high level, and his peers can't stop heaping praise on him.

Not surprisingly, Udinski is already drawing head-coaching interest. It's not a given that he'll leave the Jaguars, but they most definitely need to be ready for his departure. Whether that happens in this hiring cycle or down the road, it remains to be seen. But it seems inevitable.

Bringing in Zac Robinson would've been huge because of his ties to Liam Coen since he knows how he operates. That said, Jacksonville has options, and Coen has shown a keen eye for talent, so he would bring in a capable replacement in case Udinski leaves.

Seeing your assistants getting promotions is just a small price to pay for having success, and the Jaguars will be thrilled if Grant Udinksi becomes a head coach regardless of when it happens. That said, they'd surely want him to stick around for at least another season.
