Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars were a 1.5-point underdog against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, they had several things going in their favor. For starters, the game was held at EverBank Stadium, where Indy hasn't won in more than 10 years.
Moreover, the Jags got pass rusher Travon Walker and defensive tackle Arik Armstead back for the game. If that wasn't enough, they just got a massive break in light of an injury Colts quarterback just sustained.
Daniel Jones just left the Jaguars game vs. the Colts with a leg injury
Late in the first quarter, Daniel Jones suffered a leg injury and had to leave the game. What's noteworthy is that he was already playing with a broken fibula in his other leg. Not long after he left the field, he was officially ruled out.
Before leaving, Jones was 5-of-7 for 60 yards. With him leaving the field, Riley Leonard gets the nod behind center.
Early in the season, Jones was enjoying a career revival and was part of the early MVP conversation. However, the leg injury slowed him down in recent weeks, and it's part of the reason Indianapolis has lost three of the last four games.
Before the game, both the Jags and Indianapolis had identical 8-4 records. However, the former had the lead in the AFC South because it had a better record in the conference. It's fair to say that without Jones, the Colts' odds of staying in the thick of the playoff race will drop dramatically.

The Jaguars must seize the moment without Daniel Jones
Let's get it out of the way: It's never pleasant to see players go down, and it's most definitely frustrating to watch Daniel Jones get hurt after his strong start to the season. That said, the show must go on. Neither the Jaguars nor the Colts can stop a game just because a player just suffered an injury.
In fact, Jacksonville must seize the opportunity, and that's precisely what they're doing. Right off the bat, and during Riley Leonard's first possession, safety Eric Murray, who's back from Injured Reserve, forced a fumble, which cornerback Jarrian Jones quickly recovered.

Then, the Jags handed the ball to running back Travis Etienne and he broke a 28-yard run for a touchdown.

As of this writing, the Jags are up 21-7 and showing no signs of slowing down. Now, they must keep putting points on the scoreboard until the game gets out of reach. If they do, they'll solidify their spot as the top team in the AFC South.
