Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars had their BYE the week prior, they dealt with several injuries when they played the Las Vegas Raiders. In fact, they placed two-way star Travis Hunter and safety Eric Murray a couple days before the game.
One look at their latest injury report shows that they haven't gotten much healthier after trouncing the Silver & Black. That could turn out to be an issue when they face off against the Houston Texans in Week 10.
Brian Thomas Jr. popped up on the Jaguars injury report
The Jaguars slapped the Did Not Practice designation on Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle), left guard Ezra Cleveland (ankle/knee), cornerback Jourdan Lewis (shoulder), and tight end Hunter Long (knee/hip). They listed linebacker Dennis Gardeck (chest), linebacker Jack Kiser (quad), defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton (back), and Dyami Brown (concussion) as limited.

The report doesn't include any surprises when you take into account that Ryan O'Hallaran of The Florida Times-Union mentioned early Wednesday that Thomas, Cleveland, Lewis, and Long didn't practice. Similarly, he noted that Gardeck and Brown were wearing pinnies, while linebacker Devin Lloyd, tight end Quintin Morris, and Tim Patrick were full participants. Other beat writers echoed O'Hallaran's observations.

Not spotted: WR B. Thomas Jr. (left ankle), LG E. Cleveland (right ankle/knee), CB J. Lewis (right shoulder), TE Hunter Long (knee/hip).
Red jersey: LB D. Gardeck, WR D. Brown.
Participating: LB D. Lloyd (calf), TE Q. Morris (groin), WR T. Patrick (groin)
Lloyd has missed the past three games after hurting his calf against the Chiefs in Week 5. He was listed as questionable for the Raiders game and was ultimately ruled out. Patrick, on the other hand, has missed two contests in a row with the aforementioned groin injury, while Cleveland and Brown left the bout early.
The highlight of the report, though, may be Thomas, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the win over the Raiders. The silver lining is that there's a strong chance that he'll suit up against the Raiders.
The Jaguars need Brian Thomas Jr. for the Texans game
Although Brian Thomas Jr. has been inconsistent this season, the Jaguars would surely have him for the Texans game. After all, they lack depth at wide receiver, and if he misses the bout, they'll once again need to lean on Austin Trammell and Tim Jones. The former was signed to the active roster ahead of Week 10, and the latter was promoted from the practice squad via standard elevation.
Granted, the Jags just traded for Jakobi Meyers, but he'll have a limited time to learn the playbook, so he may not see significant playing time in Week 10. Now, Thomas may not be at full strength if he does suit up against Houston, but his presence would prevent the Texans from zeroing in on Meyers and Washington.
If Brian Thomas Jr. ultimately sits out the Texans game, the Jaguars will need the likes of Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, and Josh Hines-Allen to step up.
