The Jacksonville Jaguars had their BYE in Week 7. You can bet that they used their break to work on the issues that have been holding them back this season, including (but not limited to) poor clock management, an alarming amount of penalties, and less-than-optimal execution.

Then again, the Jags were a pretty good team that went 4-2 to start the season for a reason and should have no trouble picking up where they left off before their bye. On top of that, Jacksonville should be hyped up that it remains at the top of the division because every other team in the AFC South lost.

This begs the question, how does the division look heading into Week 8? With this in mind, here's an AFC South ranking.

AFC South Week 8 power ranking: The Jaguars are entrenched at the top

4. Tennnesse Titans (1-6)

The Tennessee Titans showed signs of life when they beat the equally hapless Indianapolis Colts in Week 6. However, they reminded everyone that they're still one of the worst teams not just in the AFC South, but in the whole NFL, when they lost to the Cleveland Browns.

The Titans may or may not win another game this season, but the Tennessee defense is most definitely making strides, bailing Cam Ward out in the loss to the Browns. Having said that, the Jags cannot suddenly start to take them lightly. Division games are always tough, so they'll need to be ready when they play them later this season.

3. Indianapolis Colts (2-5)

The Colts ousted general manager Chris Ballard after their loss to Tennessee. The expectation is that his firing would get the team fired up and rally behind head coach Shane Steichen against the Minnesota Vikings. However, the Indianapolis roster is in such bad shape that the Vikes won without breaking a sweat.

Daniel Jones continues to prove that his 2025 surge was an aberration, as he's reverted to the underwhelming quarterback he was with the New York Giants. It doesn't help that he has no weapons, but the 2019 first-round pick can't stop making mistakes.

The Colts defense has been as underwhelming as the offense, so it's hard to picture the Colts making a playoff push in the second half of the season.

2. Houston Texans (2-5)

The Houston Texans land in No. 2 by default. They had a prime opportunity to narrow the gap between them and Jacksonville but came crashing down against the Giants in Week 7. Their once formidable defense is in shambles, while C.J. Stroud hasn't been able to overcome his team's shortcomings.

What's frustrating is that the Jaguars still managed to lose to Houston in Week 6 despite the fact that they're vulnerable. The silver lining is that they still have a two-game lead over their division foes.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)

It doesn't sting that the Jaguars have lost two games already. It hurts that they lost two winnable games. Then again, that's the nature of the NFL, where things come down to the wire more often than not.

Anyway, the Jags have more than enough talent to keep winning as many games as possible the remainder of the year. Moreover, they'll get a favorable matchup against a flailing Colts team in Week 8 despite the fact that they're dealing with injuries in the secondary.

If Jacksonville takes care of business, it will be 5-2 after Week 8.
