The Jacksonville Jaguars took care of business in the 2026 season opener, beating the Cleveland Browns 34-10. Heck, the final score doesn't truly show just how dominant the Jags were, as the only touchdown they allowed came late in the fourth quarter.

Sure, the Browns are the farthest thing from a contender in the NFL right now, but Jacksonville would have lost this kind of game in the past. That's not the case anymore, as Liam Coen has his team playing a physical brand of football.

Of course, there's only so much the head coach can do. It's ultimately up to the players to deliver when called upon. These five answer the call and are watching their stock skyrocket after the win over the Browns.

Trevor Lawrence, quarterback

Heading into the season, NFL executives ranked Trevor Lawrence as the 16th-best quarterback in the league. They may want to reassess their opinion after his lights-out performance in Week 1.

Lawrence had no trouble shredding the Browns secondary, going 18-of-23 for 245 yards with four touchdowns. Along the way, he showcased the ability to make all the kind of throws you want from your quarterback. If No. 16 keeps playing the way he did in Week 1, it will be hard to deny him in the MVP race.

Ventrell Miller, linebacker

One big reason the Jaguars let Devin Lloyd walk in free agency was that they were confident that Ventrell Miller could take his place. However, he wasn't able to fend off Branson Combs in the offseason. In the end, neither one was able to outright win the starting job.

The good news is that Miller might have gotten a stronger grasp of the job after registering 10 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, and a sack against Cleveland. Heck, teammate Josh Hines-Allen believes the former Florida Gator will lead the NFL in punch-outs this season.

Combs may still get ample playing time, but Miller proved in Week 1 he deserves to be the starter.

Josh Cameron, wide receiver

Even though Josh Cameron had a strong offseason and did enough to earn a job in 2026, I didn't expect him to have such an impact right off the bat. He did, reeling in the first touchdown pass of his career. On a related note, it was Trevor Lawrence's 200th career touchdown, and he let Cameron keep the football.

Anyway, the former Baylor Bear will get more opportunities after his strong NFL debut.

Parker Washington, wide receiver

Even though the Jaguars have had contract talks with Parker Washington for months, they weren't able to reach an extension before the regular season started. They reportedly offered him an annual average of $25 million, but it's possible that Washington wants a bit more. If that's the case, he proved in Week 1 why he's looking to maximize his value.

No. 11 hauled in a team-best five receptions for 83 yards. Although fellow receivers Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr. also showed out, Washington was without a doubt the best of the bunch.

Travis Hunter, cornerback

One of the biggest storylines of the offseason was that Travis Hunter was going to play cornerback full-time but was going to play receiver on a part-time basis. Leaving aside that the Jaguars don't truly need him on offense because Trevor Lawrence's arsenal is stacked, the former Heisman Trophy winner showed against Cleveland why they want him to be on defense.

Deshaun Watson targeted Travis Hunter just once. While he allowed the completion, he only gave up just four yards.

It would have been great to see Hunter make a few big plays, but those will come if he keeps playing at such a high level.
