The Jacksonville Jaguars will enter the 2025 NFL Draft with 10 selections, but nobody would bat an eye if they trade a few of them to either move up or amass additional assets this year or next. In fact, the Jags would probably like to move down a handful of spots in Round 1. The only issue they may encounter is that there aren't many clubs interested in trading up.
Early in April, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that it is going to be very tough for clubs to trade out of the top 10 because several teams believe that the gap between No. 5 and 15 is negible.
That said, the list of teams interested in trading up isn't zero, and the following four should give the Jaguars a call if they want to get the fifth overall selection.
Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears appear to be the most likely trade-down partner for the Jaguars. They appear to be interested in running back Ashton Jeanty, but they'll need to get ahead of the Las Vegas Raiders if they want to select him.
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports already came up with a proposal in which the Bearts give picks No. 10 and No. 39 to the Jaguars in exchange for the No. 5 selection. All things considered, that's not a bad return, and at No. 10, there's a chance Tetairoa McMillan or Will Johnson will still be avaialble.
Dallas Cowboys
Like the Bears, the Dallas Cowboys are setting their sights on Ashton Jeanty. The only problem is that he'll be long gone by the time they're at No. 12, so they'll need to get ahead of the Raiders and Chicago not to miss out on him.
Of course, the cost of moving from No. 12 to No. 5 will be higher, so unless the Cowboys are willing to part ways with a second and a fourth, they'll need to settle on either Omarion Hampton or TreVeyon Henderson.
Denver Broncos
Multiple teams have shown various degrees of interest in Ashton Jeanty, but many of them pick in the 10s, so it's unlikely that they'll have a shot at drafting him... unless they trade up. One of those teams that've explored the possibility of moving up and have a need at running back is the Denver Broncos.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that as many as eight teams are looking to trade down. In the same breath, he reports that the Broncos are willing to move up. How far up remains to be seen, but if they want to land Jeanty, getting a deal done with the Jaguars would make the most sense. And because they're further down in the draft than the Raiders and Chicago, the price would go up.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Of all the teams who could potentially trade up, the Pittsburgh Steelers would be the biggest wild card. But unlike other teams on this list, they wouldn't be trading up to select Ashton Jeanty. Instead, they would get ahead of the Raiders to ensure they are in a position to select Shedeur Sanders.
That would most definitely be a bold move, but given the dearth of quarterback talent in this year's class, the Steelers may be incentivized to move into the top 10 to get their guy.
