Back in the offseason, wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was at the center of trade speculation. But despite the noise, the Jacksonville Jaguars made it clear that they weren't moving him. But based on recent developments, the Jags may reconsider their stance.

Thomas struggled with drops in 2025 but had seemingly addressed the issue in the offseason. In the Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos, No. 7 had two costly drops that should have been easy receptions. On top of that, it looked like he didn't want to be hit.

Now, it's possible that Thomas can bounce back. But if he doesn't, Jacksonville may simply decide to trade him. This isn't far-fetched when you take into account that the team is stacked at receiver, with Parker Washington enjoying a breakout season and Jakobi Meyers not getting nearly enough targets as he deserves. On top of that, Jacksonville has a couple of intriguing rookies in CJ Williams and Josh Cameron waiting in the wings.

Simply put, trading Thomas is doable. Now, the Jaguars may not get a first or a second; a fourth that turns into a third depending on playing time/performance incentives may be a fair price, based on his current production. But that's still better than keeping the 2024 first-round pick around if he continues to struggle. And with this in mind, here are five landing spots for him.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers signed Mike Evans and Christian Kirk in the offseason, but they've struggled to stay healthy. In fact, Kirk is on the injured reserve list as we speak. Compounding the issue is that Ricky Pearsall will spend the year on the Injured Reserve.

San Francisco was in such desperate need of help at receiver that it brought back Deebo Samuel. Now, there's a chance Evan and Kirk will eventually get 100 percent healthy, but Thomas would give the 49ers insurance beyond this season; his rookie contract runs through 2027. If he were to rebound, they could easily pick up his fifth-year option.

Los Angeles Rams

Like their dreaded divisional rival 49ers, the Los Angeles Rams are dealing with injuries. Specifically, they're without Puka Nacua, and he's not making progress, so he'll probably be out for a while. Sure, the Rams have Davante Adams around, but he'll be a free agent next year, and they'll need to find a replacement. Brian Thomas can be it.

Thomas could get a fresh start under offensive guru Sean McVay, who's worked with several talented receivers during his stint as the head coach in LA. The former LSU Tiger could also learn from Adams, who's a consummate pro, so a change of scenery in the City of Los Angeles does make sense.

Washington Commanders

The Commanders aren't dealing with injuries at receiver, but they could be without quarterback Jayden Daniels for the rest of the season after he suffered a serious elbow injury. That said, Washington could add reinforcements at receiver, especially if it thinks Marcus Mariota can put the team on his shoulders.

Sure, Commanders have no shortage of talent at the position, with Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs, and Antonio Williams, but they need to restock the position, as McLaurin and Diggs may not be part of the team's long-term future.

The Las Vegas Raiders

The Rams, 49ers, and Commanders would be ideal destinations for Brian Thomas Jr. because the Jaguars would ship him out of the AFC. However, the Las Vegas Raiders also make sense because they currently aren't a threat to compete in the conference. Moreover, they could use a reclamation project like Thomas.

Klint Kubiac is a first-time head coach, so he's not under pressure to win. That would give him the chance to bet on someone like Thomas. Worst-case scenario, the Raiders simply cut ties with him if it doesn't work out.
