For a brief moment, it looked like the Jacksonville Jaguars were going to beat the New Orleans Saints in Week 2 of the preseason. But just when the game was about to end, quarterback Spencer Rattler rallied from behind to make it 17-17.

The Jags tried to pull off a comeback, but the attempt fell short when undrafted rookie Seth Henigan threw an interception. And with that, the bout ended in a tie. That said, there were a handful of impressive performances from the Jacksonville sideline, along with a handful of duds.

With that in mind, here are three Jaguars who cooked against New Orleans and two who didn't.

Jaguars winner: Trevor Lawrence, quarterback

After a pair of injury-marred seasons, Trevor Lawrence has managed to make strides under head coach Liam Coen. And against the New Orleans Saints, he took another step in the right direction.

Aside from a fumble that wasn't his fault, Lawrence looked sharp on the two drives he played, going 8-of-10 for 76 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Of course, you want to wait for the regular season to pass judgment, but the former Clemson Tiger has done enough to build anticipation come Week 1.

Jaguars loser: Nick Mullens, quarterback

While Trevor Lawrence looked good against the Saints, his backup didn't. Sure, Nick Mullens tossed that jaw-dropping 26-yard pass to tight end Hunter Long. But other than that, he was mostly unremarkable.

Throughout the game, Mullens seemed uncomfortable in the pocket. Having said that, he's in no danger of tumbling down the depth chart. He's firmly entrenched behind Lawrence. Simply, he had a rough outing.

Jaguars winner: Keni-H Lovely, cornerback

The Jaguars signed Keni-H Lovely after placing Zech McPhearson on the Injured Reserve list. The former Western Michigan Bronco surely knew that he was a long shot to make the team, which is why he wasted no time showing he deserved consideration, registering an interception against the Saints.

Lovely is still on the outside looking in even after his interception, but he has maybe done enough to land in the practice squad.

Jaguars loser: Chad Muma, linebacker

If someone truly needed to show out against the Saints, it was fourth-year pro Chad Muma, who hasn't didn't do anything of note in the offseason and could eventually be phased out in favor of rookie Jack Kiser.

Early in the second quarter, Muma got beat, giving up a 28-yard reception to tight end Treyton Welch. The former Wyoming Cowboy still has one game to make an impression, but his odds of making the team don't look particularly great right now.

Jaguars winner: Parker Washington, receiver

Parker Washington was a bright spot in training camp and has made the most of his chances in the preseason. Against the Saints, he hauled in two receptions for 19 yards with one touchdown.

Following the game, Washington got praise from both Trevor Lawrence and Liam Coen. Based on how things have played out, expect the former Penn State Nittany Lion to make an impact even if he's the No. 3 or 4 target in the passing game next season.
