The Jacksonville Jaguars will roll with Nick Mullens as their backup quarterback, even though he ran hot and cold in the preseason. Of course, that won't be an issue as long as Lawrence remains healthy next season. But just to err on the side of caution, the Jags should explore options to bolster the depth at the position.
Now, the demand for quarterbacks in the NFL outweighs the supply, so Jacksonville won't necessarily find a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback on the waiver wire. Having said that, there could be a handful of intriguing options, and general manager James Gladstone shouldn't hesitate to target these potential roster cuts if they become available.

Stetson Bennett, Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams could carry three quarterbacks next season. But if they only keep two, reigning MVP Matthew Stafford and Ty Simpson would get the nod, leaving Stetson Bennett as the odd man out.
Bennett landed with the Rams in 2023 and has spent the three seasons working on his craft. However, he won't be suiting up on game day anytime soon, as Simpson will be Stafford's heir apparent.
Head coach Liam Coen has a great relationship with the LA Rams staff, so he could get firsthand intel on the former Georgia Bulldog. Having said that, there's a chance Bennett won't hit the waiver wire, as he's become the subject of trade chatter. Still, he could give a boost to the Jacksonville quarterback room.
Jake Browning, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
When he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, Jake Browning beat the Jaguars twice, once in 2023 and later in 2025. He's now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but is facing competition from undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels, who is trending toward getting the QB2 job behind Baker Mayfield.
In fact, Daniels got the start in the preseason finale. If he gets the job, Jacksonville should kick the tires on Browning. Of course, the Bucs could keep all three, but nobody will bat an eye if Browning is available.
Will Levis, Tennesee Titans
By now, it's clear that Will Levis doesn't have a future with the Tennessee Titans, as Cam Ward is firmly entrenched as the starter, and Mitch Trubisky is No. 2 on the depth chart. To make matters worse, the 2023 second-round pick doesn't have trade value, as his stock has hit an all-time low. However, that could actually work in the Jags' favor.
Levis played for Liam Coen at Kentucky and actually had his best season when he was his offensive coordinator. While the former Wildcat may not have a future as a starter in the NFL, he could enjoy a fresh start in Duval and rebuild his stock.
When you add it all up, it would be a win-win situation. Moreover, it would sting the Titans to see Levis thrive in Duval.
