3 players the Jaguars must consider trading after heartbreaking loss to the Eagles

If the Jacksonville Jaguars had beaten the Philadelphia Eagles, they would've had a strong chance to keep their playoff hopes alive. After all, every team in the AFC South, with the exception of the Tennessee Titans, lost in Week 9, and a win would've put them a manageable three games behind the Houston Texans. Unfortunately, the Jags came up short and lost to Philly. And without much to play for, the Jags should host a fire sale before the November 5 trade deadline.

Jacksonville already traded left tackle Cam Robinson and defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris. Similarly, the Pittsburgh Steelers were working on a deal to acquire wide receiver Christian Kirk before he suffered a season-ending injury. This is to say that the front office is actively trying to move on from players who aren't part of the team's long-term plans, and there are a few that could or have garnered interest ahead of the deadline.

With that in mind, here are three players the Jaguars could trade before the deadline.

Travis Etienne, running back

Travis Etienne was a mainstay of the offense the past two seasons but hasn't been nearly as productive in 2024 because he's dealing with injuries. On top of that, he's lost playing time to fellow running back Tank Bigsby, who's bounced back after an underwhelming rookie season.

So far this season, Etienne has toted the rock 49 times for 254 yards with two touchdowns. He racked up over 1,400 yards from scrimmage each of the past two years, so it's fair to assume that his statline doesn't look nearly as impressive in 2024 because the Jaguars are struggling across the board.

Yet, the former Clemson Tiger remains a productive player who could help teams in need of wide receiver help. The Dallas Cowboys, the Denver Broncos, and the Kansas City Chiefs come to mind.

Andre Cisco, safety

After logging seven interceptions and 15 passes defensed the past two years, Andre Cisco was seen as a breakout candidate in 2024. However, he's been somewhat unremarkable this season. Aside from not making nearly as many plays, the former Syracuse Orangeman has struggled to wrap up tackles this season.

While the top brass already locked up Trevor Lawrence and cornerback Tyson Campbell, Cisco has yet to get an extension and is slated to become a free agent in 2025. The Jags should soon get Andrew Wingard and Tashaun Gipson. The former started the season on Injured Reserve while the latter will soon return from a suspension he served for violations of the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Either Gipson or Wingard could play safety next to Darnell Savage, which would allow the Jags to trade Cisco.

Devin Lloyd, linebacker

Devin Lloyd hasn't become the playmaker the Jaguars expected when they drafted him 27th overall in 2022. Granted, he hasn't been dreadful but hasn't been great either, which is what you expect from a first-round selection. Meanwhile, fellow linebacker Ventrell Miller made the most of his playing time when Foyesade Oluokun was on Injured Reserve.

Trading Lloyd would be accepting that drafting him wasn't a good decision. That said, he isn't living up to expectations and the front office would be doubling down on the mistake if they held on to him. With Oluokun and Miller in the mix, they can afford to pull the plug on him.
