It didn't receive nearly as much attention as Myles Garrett's trade request, but star receiver Cooper Kupp announced the same days that the Los Angeles Rams will be moving on from him. The Jacksonville Jaguars should waste no time inquiring about his services and the potential cost to get a deal done.

Kupp has a base salary of $12 million for 2025 and is due a roster bonus of $7.5 million. Trading him would leave the Rams with $22 million in dead cap, but they're currently undergoing a rebuild and could most definitely benefit from getting either draft picks or young players.

On the other hand, the Jaguars must make upgrades to their wide receiver corps. Brian Thomas Jr. became a key contributor and broke several team records last year. However, the team's brass needs to add someone who will prevent opposing teams from double-teaming him. Gabe Davis was expected to be that player when he signed a three-year deal worth $39 million last year but was underwhelming.

Parker Washington is also in the mix and is ready for a bigger workload in 2025. That said, he's poised to play an integral role on special teams, so Jacksonville may want to bring in additional help to ensure they don't put too much on his plate. It's also worth noting that Christian Kirk is around but he could be a cap casualty.

If the Jaguars want to bring in a potential replacement for Kirk, and insurance in case Gabe Davis doesn't bounce back, Kupp would be an intriguing option.

Granted, the Eastern Washington product has sat out 18 games with injuries the past three years but he led the league in catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns — the proverbial triple crown — in 2021. He should still have ample juice left, and if the Jags want to trade for him, they could make it happen with any of the following proposals.

The Jaguars send a 3rd-round pick to the Rams in exchange for Cooper Kupp

You could make the case that availability is Cooper Kupp's biggest red flag, but there's no doubt he's a game-changer when he steps on the football field. Make no mistake, the reason the Rams want to move on from him is that they want to get younger and are willing to incur a considerable cap hit in exchange for draft picks.

That said, Kupp's value isn't particularly high at this moment after missing time the past three years. At most, Los Angeles will get a third-round offer in exchange for him. That's a price the Jaguars can easily afford when you take into account that they acquired an extra selection in Round 3 after agreeing to move down six spots in last year's draft.

The Jaguars give the Rams a 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick

If the Jaguars don't want to part ways with one of their third-rounders in 2025, they can also offer two fourth-round selections, one in 2024 and the other one next year.

Aside from the third-round pick they got from the Minnesota Vikings last year, they also acquired an extra fourth-rounder in 2025. They could use it, along with another one in 2026, if they want to keep their third this year.

The Jaguars trade Devin Lloyd and a 6th-round pick in exchange for Cooper Kupp

The Rams linebacker corps could use help, and if the Jaguars want to add a proven veteran, they could ask the Jaguars to include Devin Lloyd in a package. A first-round pick in the 2022 draft, Lloyd has been good but not great in Jacksonville the past three years.

Add the fact that the Jags have a capable replacement for the former Utah Ute in Ventrell Miller, and it would make sense to trade him, especially if he doesn't figure in the team's long-term plan. Jacksonville can throw in an extra seventh to sweeten the deal.
