The Jacksonville Jaguars invested a significant amount of money in their 2022 free-agent class and got plenty of production in return. However, they won’t be able to make as many splash signings this year due to the limited amount o cap space they’ll have at their disposal. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though, as winning free agency hardly doesn’t guarantee you will win more football games.

On the other hand, the Jags won’t need to pursue the top names in the market to replenish their roster this offseason. Instead, they could target these five under-the-radar free agents to bolster key position groups.

No. 5 under-the-radar free agent for the Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Hernandez

The Jaguars gave right guard Brandon Scherff a three-year deal worth $49.5 million and he rewarded them with a pretty good offseason. Even though the former Iowa Hawkeye didn’t earn an All-Pro designation, he played at a high level and managed to appear in every game, a feat he hadn’t achieved since 2016.

On the left side of the offensive line, Ben Bartch showed progress and played well before a knee injury cut his season short. He should be back in the lineup next season but if the Jags want to bring in competition or add insurance in case he isn’t fully healthy, they should target Will Hernandez in free agency.

Hernandez played 62 games with 56 starts for the New York Giants, the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2018 draft. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals last year and was solid, making 14 starts and allowing 16 total pressures. Although a suffered a pectoral injury towards the end of the year, he should be ready to compete with Bartch for the left guard job in training camp.
