Jaguars News: Christian Kirk makes some very confident comments
The Jacksonville Jaguars are in good shape right now. After a surprising season in which they won their division, they are entering one of the biggest off-seasons in franchise history. If they play their cards right, they could be one of the premier AFC teams in short order.
Someone who might be able to help them take that step next year is Christian Kirk. After a good first four seasons of his career with the Arizona Cardinals from 2018-2021, he signed with the Jaguars in February of 2022. He rewarded them by being even better.
Kirk had 84 receptions for 1108 yards in 17 games played this season. He also had 8 touchdown receptions. All of those stats, including games played, were career highs. He’ll turn 27 about halfway through the 2023 season so there is some great football left.
Having Kirk was great for Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville offense this year. In addition to some of the other great weapons that he had, Kirk was above average and always extremely reliable. Now, he knows big things could be coming in 2023.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are lucky to have a receiver as good as Christian Kirk.
Kirk went on the “Up and Adams” show this week and had some interesting things to say about himself. He made it clear that he doesn’t feel respect around the league. He also believes that he is one of the best receivers in the NFL.
To be honest, that is fair. He might not be quite as talented or impactful as Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, or AJ Brown amongst a few others but he is close. You never know what he is capable of as Lawrence develops further. He absolutely deserves his respect as one of the best.
There are people turned off when players say things like this but if you aren’t confident in yourself who will be? Kirk wants to be mentioned amongst the greats and he is his greatest advocate. There is no doubt that his greatness can help Jacksonville win.
